The Commercial Gillnet Fishery for the John Day Pool will be open at 6am this Thursday throu 6pm March 24th. The Dalles Pool will also open Thursday and remain open through Monday at 6pm. The current regulations for Zone 6 Platform and Hook & Line Fisheries remain unchanged. Anyone can receive text alerts from the Columbia River Inter Tribal Fish Commission. At the Warm Springs Cougars 6th and 8th grade coed basketball tournament at the Community Center over the weekend: The 6th grade division champions were Magical Moves with 1st Runner Up the Warm Springs Cougars.  Other Finalists were Red Nation and White Swan.  The 6th grade all-tournament team included: Skytus Smith, Sasha Esquiro, Kayln Leonard, Dayson Begay, Chamille Smith, Chad Tewee, Trinity Wheeler, Stowhi Lewis, Isiah Florendo, Kalissa Smith, Mathew Stywer, Jessica Johnson, Gunner Baily, Talise Wapsheli, Fallon Garcia and Seneca Ball.

The 8th grade Division Champions were Magical Moves with Chiloquin the Runner Up.  Other finalists were the Warm Springs Cougars and the Running Rebels.   The 8th grade all-tournament team included: Bree Peters, Chloee Peters, Tyrin Garcia, Skytus Smith.  From the Klamath Team – Sandra & Isabelle, plus Scotty Riddle, Vaughn Watah, Coreena Stywer, Alexis Marinez, Avon Garcia, Damon Garcia, Shantell Harry, Jazell Allen, Mason Strong & Aaron Culps.

School districts across the country are preparing for student walkouts tomorrow. That will be the one-month anniversary of the mass shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida. Students are planning to walk out of schools in support of the students in Florida who have been pushing for tougher gun laws.
