The Pi-Ume-Sha Health Fair is happening today at the Community Center. Stop by to see the new demonstration area, where health workers are giving fitness and cooking demonstrations. The fair is hosted by the Confederated Tribes and Health and Human Services.

The artwork of Lillian Pitt will be on display at the Ravens Make Gallery in Sisters, this Friday through Sunday, June 22-24. Several new works will be unveiled. Lillian will be on hand for the exhibit. She was in Washington, D.C., last week, serving on a jury for the Smithsonian’s Museum of the American Indian. The jury is selecting the monument to honor Native Americans who have served in the United States military, from the Revolutionary War to the present. Lillian also has work in the Smithsonian museum.

The second wave of offers from the Warm Springs Land Buy Back program is under way.  Offers are good through July 16. The Buy-Back Program implements the land consolidation component of the Cobell Settlement. The settlement provided $1.9 billion to purchase fractional interests in trust or restricted land from willing sellers at fair market value.

PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) — State and federal forest managers say Oregon’s wildfire season does not look promising. Fire managers say the warm May melted off the snowpack two weeks early. The green forests of eastern Oregon are drying out, and the southern and central Oregon will be “above normal” for significant wildfire potential in July. Only the Willamette Valley and most coastal areas are expected to be at the normal range of fire risk throughout the summer.

A food preservation workshop is being held today at Simnasho Longhouse in conjunction with the Columbia River Intertribal fish Commissioners meeting being held this Thursday & Friday at Kahneeta Resort. Flossie Wolfe, Raydine Spino, Lavina Colwash and Marcella Tish will be demonstrating preservation of salmon this morning.
