Funeral Arrangements for Katherine Keo Jackson – Today, Viewing/Leave Redmond Autumn Funeral Home at 10am. The dressing is at 2:00 today at the Simnasho Longhouse. Thursday (9/3) Last Meal will be at 5am and burial at sunrise. A meal and giveaway will follow.
The Senior Center is closed today and tomorrow. There will be no meals or activities.
It’s Tribal Appreciation Day at Kah-Nee-Ta today. Every Wednesday this month there will be free admission for Tribal members.
The Thursday Market is tomorrow from 10:30am – 2pm at the Campus Pavillion. Vendors are welcome to come set up. It’s first come, first serve for available tables and chairs. Mt. Hood Meadows will have its Fall Clothing Give Away with gently used clothing, shoes and boots in various sizes. Pick up for Veggie Rx participants will be from 11- 2. Please check in with Barbara at the HDFFA table. And if you are eligible and opted in, delivery will begin around 2:30 pm.
Papalaxsimisha’s final session of its pre-college summer series is today from noon to 1 at the Family Resource Center. It’s a chance to get a head start on your college journey – learn about financial aid, applying to college, scholarships and get support on your path to college.
Today is the last day of the summer program at the Boys & Girls Club. The club will be closed for the rest of this week and Monday & Tuesday next week. It will reopen on the first day of school, September 9th for the afterschool program 2:50-5:30. Registration is open now for the 2026-27 school year on the parent portal at www.bgcsc.org. Click on “register” and “create account.”
The Back to School BBQ & Family Resource Fair is tomorrow at the Warm Springs K-8 Academy from 4-6pm. It’s a chance to connect with teachers and staff from the 509J school district. Everyone is welcome.
Warm Springs Nation Little League invites families to save your spot for the 2027 season by completing pre-registration paperwork during the Back-to-School Barbecue tomorrow (9/3) at the K8 Academy. People interested in coaching this coming season should contact Edmund Francis or Liz Hisatake.
Art Adventure Gallery’s September exhibit will feature works from mother & daughter Kathleen Veenstra & Emily O’Neal. There’s an opening reception on Thursday (9/3) from 5-7pm. The gallery is located on 5th Street in Madras.
A volunteer-led search party meeting for missing teen Tyler Kalama is scheduled for this evening from 5:30-8 at the Agency Longhouse. All are welcome to attend, share information and volunteer in future search parties.
The Oregon Employment Department’s mobile WorkSource Oregon center will be in Warm Springs at the Community Center parking lot from 9:30-3:30 on Tuesday, September 8th. People can stop by to connect with career support, technology, and WorkSource staff who can help you take the next step in your job search. Services include free computer and internet access, personalized career support, help finding job and training opportunities, and referrals to benefits programs. If you are a Veteran, you’ll receive priority access to WorkSource Oregon services.
Madras High School’s “Buffs Are Back” BBQ for all grades will be held on Tuesday, September 8th 4:30-6:30. Students can learn about clubs & activities, plus get schedules, lockers, ASB cards, parking passes and order year books. Hot dogs, chips & water will be available for everyone.
