Funeral Arrangements for Ursula Gibson –

Today (10/9) there will be a viewing at Redmond Memorial Chapel (717 SW 6th Street, Redmond) from 8-11am. Rosary will follow from noon to 1.

The funeral Mass will be on Saturday (10/10) at 10am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha in Warm Springs. Burial will follow at the Agency Cemetery.

Funeral Arrangements for Florene Scott –

Saturday (10/10) 9am they will depart from Autumn Funeral Home and arrive at the Campus Pavilion between 10:30-11am where there will be a viewing and 1 Seven. Burial will follow at the Agency Cemetery, and then a meal in the Old School Cafeteria.

There is no school today for 509J students. It’s an in-service training day for teachers.

The Boys & Girls Club is open 8-5 today with lunch service at 11. The Club will be closed on Monday (10/12) for Indigenous People’s Day.

The Reservation Impact Food Pantry at 4217 Holliday St in the Warm Springs Industrial Park is open from 10-1 today. Later in the day, the Warm Springs Free Food Market at 4217 Holliday St starts at 4PM, while the Metolius Friends Food Pantry at 575 Hood Ave is open from 4 to 6.

Friday is Senior Lunch Day in Warm Springs.  Free meals for elders 60 and older are from noon to 1 every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday in the Senior Wellness Center dining room.

BendFilm and the Wyam Youth Center will feature a special screening of the movie Smoke Signals in Warm Springs today. Actress Tantoo Cardinal, who plays Arlene Joseph (Victor’s Mom) in the film, will be in attendance for meet & greet before the film and a panel after. The meet & greet starts at 2pm and the film screening at 4:30.

The BendFilm Festival runs through the weekend and in addition to Smoke Signals, the Wyam will also show a Narrative Shorts Showcase screening this evening at 7:30. On Saturday (10/10) at the Wyam, there will be a screening at 5pm of The River Remembers & First Descent: Kayaking the Klamath, and a Documentary Shorts Showcase at 7. Madras White Buffalo Varsity Football takes on Pleasant Hill this evening for their Homecoming Game. Kick off is scheduled for 7. You can listen to the game live on KWSO.

The Buff Boosters are having a pulled pork fundraiser dinner during the game from 5:30 until 8.

Warm Springs Extension Service is inviting folks to join for the annual Fall Fruit Loop Tour this Saturday (10/10). They will be leaving the Education Building between 8 and 8:30. Message them on the Warm Springs Extension Facebook page if you want to join. The weather is supposed to get much cooler starting Friday, so dress accordingly. And be sure to bring your own lunch, snacks, water and money to buy produce.

Warm Springs Nation Little League is looking for volunteers to help clean up the softball and baseball fields this Saturday (10/10) from 10am to 2pm behind the Community Center.

This Saturday (10/10) there will be memorials for Josh Kalama and Clifford Bernie Earl. A headstone unveiling will begin at 10am at the Agency Cemetery. Memorials, lunch and namegiving will follow at the Agency Longhouse.

Jefferson County Library Association is having a book sale at the Books, Bites & Harvest Delights event this Saturday (10/10) at the Jefferson County Event Complex from 10am-4pm. They will have books for all ages and genres. Book donations are also welcome.

A local group is holding weekly rallies to help energize local voters. They are gathering every Saturday morning from 10:30 to noon at the North Y in Madras to encourage community participation in the upcoming general election. These weekly rallies will run through October 31st. Everyone is welcome to join.

The 2026 Warm Springs Halloween Parade is on Tuesday, October 13th. Parade line-up will begin at 4:30 and judging at 5:30. The parade starts at 6:30 from the old elementary school down to the Community Center. The theme is Addams Family 2.

The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Employees 2027 Open Enrollment period is open through October 29th. The Community Belonging Measurement Project is asking community members to share their thoughts on what makes a community a place where people feel they belong. Warm Springs community members who are primary caregivers of children under 18 are invited to join a conversation to help design a survey for project on Thursday, October 15th from 5-7pm in the old school cafeteria.
