FIRE UPDATE: Sun., Aug. 16, 2015

The County Line 2 fire has grown to 55,200 acres and is 20% contained.  There are 781 people assigned to the fire

Evacuation levels changed at  7:30 this morning with Level 3 Evacuation Notices on the Warm Springs Reservation being eliminated.  There are
Level 2 Notices (BE PREPARED TO LEAVE IF THE SITUATION WORSENS) in place for: Wolfe Point; Kah-Nee-Ta & Schoolie Flat.  Also, Sidwalter Flats, West Hills and Tenino Road from milepost 1-7 have Level 2 notices.  The Warm Springs Agency area (except West Hills & Tenino Road), Upper Dry Creek, Sunnyside & Simnasho are now in Level 1 notification and residents need to remain aware that the fire is burning.

State Highway 26 remains open and reservation Highway 3 is open.  Motorists are advised that there can be limited visibility due to smoke and to watch out for livestock that are roaming with fence down due to the fire.

There is a Public Meeting on the County Line 2 fire at 3pm today at the Warm Springs Community Center.

Big thanks to all the firefighting resources that have come to help the Warm Springs Reservation defend homes and contain the wildfire.  Other Oregon and Northwest Communities are experiencing fires too and all are thankful for the hard work, dedication and skill of both the wildland firefighers and the structural protection crews.
