Funeral Arrangements for Elliott Lawson Sr. – Burial is this morning at 8:00 at Agency Cemetery.
Most offices in the tribal organization will close at noon today and the Tribe is closed Thursday & Friday for Christmas. The IHS Clinic is closed today through Friday for the holiday.
Warm Springs Sanitation is picking up Friday garbage routes today. There will be no garbage pickup on Thursday & Friday as the Tribe is closed for the holiday.
The Free Food Market at the Madras Community Food Pantry will be open this afternoon with signups starting at 4, and doors opening at 4:30. The Free Food Pantry is open every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 370 SW Culver Highway in Madras.
The Agency Longhouse will host Christmas Dinner this Thursday at noon. The Simnasho Longhouse will host a Christmas Dinner this Sunday December 28th at 12:30pm.
Warm Springs Tribal Appreciation Days at Kah-Nee-Ta Hot Springs Resort are offered on the first and last Sunday of each month. Tribal Member discounts include free admission for day use, half off of all cabana rentals, 25% off all food purchases and 10% off of pool house store items. Included in your day pass is – use of all 7 pools and cold tubs, mini golf, pickleball, basketball, bocce ball, spike ball, 4-square volleyball and interactive video games. The next Tribal Appreciation Days are coming up Sunday, December 28th and January 4th. Kah-Nee-Ta also offers daily Tribal Member discounts and amenities for day and twilight passes, cabana rentals, Spa Wanapine, overnight lodging, the Tribal Picnic Pavilions and Tribal Bathhouse. OSU Extension Service in Warm Springs is having a Food Preservation Class for you to learn how to make and preserve homemade barbecue & marinara sauces. It will be on January 22nd at 10am in the Old School Cafeteria. Space is limited and you need to reserve a spot by calling 541-553-3238 or email sara.olson@oregonstate.edu.
Community Service is looking for Senior Citizens’ names and addresses for wood delivery. Contact Tasheyna Sohappy at 541-553-3293 to provide information.
Motorists are encouraged to reduce speed in areas where there is a lot of pedestrian traffic or bike traffic after dark. Going slower is one way to ensure the safety of those folks walking and biking. Stay safe out there.
The Warm Springs Tribes offers an emergency notification system but folks need to opt in to receive messages. In the event of winter weather impacts on roads making travel hazardous for employees, there could be changes to work or service hours. The alert system communicates information to employees and the general public via texts and e-mail messages. To participate you can sign up online or contact the Tribes’ Office of Information Systems.
