Here is the CTWS Fire Management Update for Sunday, July 26, 7 pm
Bench Fire – – Acres: 20,180 – – Containment: 0%
Beachcomb Fire – – Acres: 13,648 – – Containment: 0%
The increase in acreage reflects data from extreme fire behavior and recent mapping operations.
The Bench and Beachcomb fires have merged together, consuming dry fuels between them. Activity was moderate until late in the afternoon when the winds increased. Heavy aircraft was utilized throughout the fire area as it became more active.
Crews continue with structure protection, along with strengthening dozer lines as fire moved further northeast.

The Oregon State Fire Marshall reports that the Emergency Conflagration Act was invoked last night for the Bench and Beachcomb fires on the Warm Springs Reservation and in Jefferson County.
