  • Free Summer Meals Today: Friday meals are ready for all kids and teens up to age 18. Come grab breakfast and lunch at the Warm Springs Boys & Girls Club (8:15–9:00 AM / 11:00–11:45 AM) or Bridges High School (7:45–8:45 AM / 11:15 AM–12:30 PM).
  • Greeley Heights Neighborhood Yard Sales are happening today through Sunday. Look for balloons at participating homes.
  • The Community Wellness Center has a summer conditioning training session with Titus Kalama every Monday, Wednesday & Friday morning from 8:30-10.
  • Warm Springs Recreation is having a toy sale & swap today from 10am until noon at the Community Center. You can reserve a table at the Rec office.
  • The Community Wellness Center will be closing early today. The whole building will be closed at 5.
  • The Food Bank at the Warm Springs Commodities warehouse is open today from 10am to 1pm.
  • The MountainStar Resource Bus providing diapers, wipes and other supplies for young children will be in the parking lot of the Warm Springs Community Center today from 10:30-2:30. Families that are registered with MountainStar will be eligible for diapers twice a month. For more information call 458-287-1080.   • Friday is Senior Lunch Day in Warm Springs. Free meals for elders 60 and older are from noon to 1 every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday in the Senior Wellness Center dining room.
  • The Metolius Friends Food Pantry is open to all on Fridays from 4-6pm at 575 Hood Ave. You do need to bring your own bags.
  • Every Friday, Warm Springs Behavioral Health Center has a Relapse Prevention Group for current clients at 11am. In the afternoon, Art + Emotion Group with Dr. Largent is from 3-4pm and Wellbriety Group Therapy is from 4-5pm. These afternoon groups are open to the public.

The annual Wings Invitational youth track meet is on Tuesday, August 11th at the K8 track. Registration starts at 5:15 with opening ceremonies set for 5:45 and events at 6. There will be divisions for ages 2-5, 6-9 and 10-12.

There’s an Agency District meeting on Tuesday, August 11th at the Agency Longhouse. Dinner is at 5:30 with a meeting to follow. Agenda items include adoptions & enrollments; and small business development & management.

The Wasco County Fair is August 13-16 in Tygh Valley. There will be live music & entertainment, rodeo & livestock shows, fun family games, fair food, a demolition derby and drone show. Thursday at noon there will be a free senior lunch, sponsored by Wasco Electric Cooperative. Saturday at 5pm there’s powwow dancing. The rodeo starts at 7:30 Friday and Saturday nights. The demolition derby is Sunday at 11am.

On Saturday, August 15th, the Wasco County Fair and Rodeo will host the “Hold the Line for Saralee” Memorial Race in loving memory of Saralee Spino-McCormack. The event features a Single Exchange Pony Express race—two horses, one jockey, open to both men and women. The action starts at the Wasco County Fairgrounds in Tygh Valley, with top prizes including a thousand dollars added cash and a “Best Dressed Jockey” award. The Humane Society of Central Oregon will have a free pet wellness clinic in Warm Springs on Saturday, August 15th from 10am until 2pm. The walk-in clinic will be at Fire & Safety on campus – appointments are not needed. Pets can get a wellness exam, vaccinations, microchip and dewormer medication.
