The Metolius Friends Food Pantry at 575 Hood Ave is open today from 9AM to 12PM and again from 2 to 4:00.
Free Dental Clinics are happening this week in the Old School Cafeteria. Monday (9/21) from 11am to 4pm. Tuesday (9/22) from 9am-2pm. Wednesday (9/23) from 9am to 2pm. Services provided include dental extractions & fillings. No appointment necessary. Services are provided at no cost.
Fall term GED classes in Warm Springs begin Monday September 21st at the Education Building. You can register during the first week of classes. Classes will be Mondays and Wednesdays noon til 3 at the Warm Springs Education Building and 3-7 at the COCC Madras Campus.
Warm Springs Community Health’s Mobile Medical Clinic will be located at the Simnasho Fire Station on Tuesday (9/22) from 10am to 3pm. They can help with medical problems, medications, STI tests, and – by appointment – procedures. Walk-ins and appointments are welcome. Call 541-553-2352 to schedule.
The Oregon Employment Department’s mobile WorkSource Oregon center will be in Warm Springs at the Community Center parking lot from 9:30-3:30 on Tuesday, September 22nd. People can stop by to connect with career support, technology, and WorkSource staff who can help you take the next step in your job search. Services include free computer and internet access, personalized career support, help finding job and training opportunities, and referrals to benefits programs. If you are a Veteran, you’ll receive priority access to WorkSource Oregon services.
Kah-Nee-Ta Hot Springs Resort will have a First Responder Appreciation Day every Tuesday through September. They’ll give complementary resort admission for firefighters, first responders, law enforcement and their families. And, EVERY Wednesday through September there will be free admission for Tribal members.
The 2027 Warm Springs Tribal Employee Open Enrollment Period runs from October 1st through the 29th. Be sure to confirm your email by September 25th to receive your CTWS.Ease.com log-in details and attend the in-person or virtual informational meetings on October 13th and 14th. A Car Seat & Community Health Resource Fair will take place Saturday, September 26th at Jefferson County Public Health in Madras. From 10-3, folks can stop by for free certified car seat checks, free car seats for eligible families, pizza, raffle prizes, and community family resource booths.
KWSO is celebrating our 40th anniversary with a free screening of the award-winning documentary Bad Press. The film chronicles the courageous fight of Muscogee (Creek) Nation journalists as they defend the freedom of their press against attempts at censorship, highlighting the tension between tribal sovereignty and transparency while documenting the vital role of independent Indigenous media. Everyone is welcome to the event Wednesday, September 30th at the Madras Performing Arts Center. Doors open at 3pm with refreshments, the screening starts at 4 and a panel discussion will follow.
