Today is picture day at Madras High School.
Tribal Council Agenda: Budget Call Backs – This morning, Human Resources; TERO; and Gaming Regulatory Authority. This afternoon, Public Utilities; Finance; and ECE Compliance & Policy Council.
There is a free Dental Clinic today in the Old School Cafeteria from 9am to 2pm. Services provided include dental extractions & fillings. No appointment necessary. Services are provided at no cost.
The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs is hosting a Huckleberry Habitat Management Workshop today from 10am to 2:15pm at the Hehe Longhouse. Tribal members are encouraged to attend and help guide the future of huckleberry habitat across Warm Springs.
The Madras Community Food Pantry at 370 SW Culver Highway is open from 10-1 today. Later this afternoon, the Madras Free Food Market at the same location starts signups at 4 with doors opening at 4:30 until food runs out. In addition, the Life Raft Food Pantry at 401 5th Street in Maupin is open from 5-7pm.
Today is Tribal Day at Kah-Nee-Ta Resort with free admission for Tribal members. Beginning in October, Tribal Days will be every Sunday.
There is a senior lunch today at noon at the Warm Springs Senior Center dining area. Senior meals are free for all elders age 60 and older. Folks can join the seniors for lunch – it’s $1 for Youth, $5 for adults or you can assist with clean-up after the meal. 9/23 Today they will serve salmon twasali, roasted potatoes, green beans and fruit.
Fall term GED classes start this week. You can register today. Classes are Mondays and Wednesdays noon til 3 at the Warm Springs Education Building and 3-7 at the COCC Madras Campus.
The Water Control Board is scheduled to meet today from 1:30 until 4 in Conference Room #3 at the Tribal Administration Building. It meets monthly on the 4th Wednesday.
Warm Springs K8 Eagles Cross Country runners compete at a meet hosted by Obsidian Middle School today at American Legion Park in Redmond at 4:00.
The Madras High School Boys JV2 Soccer team has a home game today vs. Caldera at 4. Lady Buffs Volleyball teams are hosting The Dalles with games at 4:30 and 6.
Warm Springs Diabetes Prevention will have Strong Camp for youth this evening at the old elementary school gym. Camp for 3rd-5th grades is from 5:30-7pm and the grade 6-8 camp is from 7 until 8:30pm.
Warm Springs Community Health’s Mobile Medical Clinic will be located at the Permanent Supportive Housing area near the Trailer Courts on Thursday (9/24) from 1-4pm. They can help with medical problems, medications, STI tests, and – by appointment – procedures. Walk-ins and appointments are welcome. Call 541-553-2352 to schedule.
Warm Springs Young Life is hosting a BBQ & Family Day Thursday (9/24) from 4-6pm at the Community Center field. Young people in 6th through 12th grade, plus parents, guardians & families, are invited for food, games, prizes and to see what Young Life is about.
The 2027 Warm Springs Tribal Employee Open Enrollment Period runs from October 1st through the 29th. Be sure to confirm your email by this Friday (9/25) to receive your CTWS.Ease.com log-in details and attend the in-person or virtual informational meetings on October 13th and 14th. The Warm Springs Police Department has temporarily contracted with Frontier Regional 911 to assist with dispatch during overnight hours. Frontier is handling all 911 and emergency dispatch services for the Warm Springs PD between the hours of 6pm and 6am. During these hours, community members who need non-emergency assistance from the police department should call 541-384-2080.
