Voting for the November election is underway.. in Oregon registered voters have until Nov 4th to return their ballots either by mail or by self-delivery to a ballot drop box or the county clerk’s office.. In Warm Springs there is a ballot drop box located on campus across from the Post Office in front of the old fire and safety house.

Tribal council has posted the proposed budget for 2015 and district meetings are coming up with the first one set for Monday Night in Simnasho. The posted budget reflects an increase in revenue from the previous year and is welcome news. For the 2015 year TC is proposing to transfer funds to both the senior pension and revenue reserve funds. WSPWE, Indian head casino and timber revenue are all part of the projected increase picture. Details will be available to Tribal Members at the meetings this week.  Other details are available in the latest edition for the Spilyay…  and next week on KWSO’s Warm Springs Program.  Tuesday night the Agency District meeting is at the Warm Springs Community Center and Wednesday night is the Seekseequa District meeting at the Seekseequa fire hall.  Dinners are at 6 with the meetings at 7.

Two weeks ago we heard that WS housing was to receive ½ million dollars from HUD for housing improvements and work is now underway for a 35 unit subdivision at Greely heights. The plan is to have six units completed by February 2015..  The infrastructure portion is being paid for by the CTWS with funding from the Oregon Housing and Community services low income housing tax credit program. It is the first time the tribes have used that particular source to fund a large scale infrastructure project. Money to build the homes is coming from the Department of Housing and Urban Development

The madras volleyball team will have a one match showdown vs Crook County to determine the TVC league champion. The winning team would become the outright champion of the TVC and earn an automatic berth to the state playoffs, the loser will have to host a play in game for a chance to move on.. the volleyball game will be played in Redmond at Ridgeview High School Tuesday evening

Sign ups for the COBO JEFFERSON COUNTY YOUTH BASKETBAL Leagues are right around the corner. The league is for 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade boys and girls … Signups are Monday, October 27th and Tuesday, October 28th 5:00 – 6:00 MHS Gym Lobby and then from 6:30 – 7:30 at Warm Springs K-8 Academy …. Practices for the 12 Game Regular Season Schedule begin the week of November 3rd and  Games will be played on weekends beginning December 8th at Central Oregon High Schools
