Winter Weather Dec 17, 2015

A winter storm warning was posted and mother nature delivered with significant snowfall Wednesday Night.  Roads are snow covered in and around Warm Springs including Highway 26 from Madras to Mt Hood.

The snowy conditions have cancelled school for the Jefferson County 509J School District.  South Wasco County Schools have cancelled school.  Craft Night at the Warm Springs K-8 Academy is cancelled for tonight and the Boys 7th and 8th grade basketball games are cancelled today between the Eagles and JCMS.

The Warm Springs Senior Holiday Bazaar and Luncheon is cancelled today.

Warm Springs Tribal Offices are going to remain closed today.

The Warm Springs Indian Health Services Clinic is open at 10am today with limited staffing.

The Tribal Referendum Vote on the Cannabis Project will take place as scheduled 8am – 8pm at the Warm Springs Community Center.  Tribal Member voters 21 and older are asked to cast their vote.  Anyone who needs a ride to the polls can call 541-553-3565.

Drive safely and expect snowy conditions on the road.  If you can just stay home this morning that’s the best plan.
