Mt. Hood Meadows Huckleberry Picking Day

The 15th annual Warm Springs Tribal Huckleberry Picking Event hosted by Mt. Hood Meadows is scheduled for Thursday August 16th.   The outing provides an opportunity to scout out and pick Huckleberries on Mt. Hood, while enjoying the hospitality of Mt. Hood Meadows staff.

Both the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs and Mt. Hood Meadows consider themselves stewards of the lands and environment in the Mt. Hood Area.  Work continues to restore the traditional huckleberry picking areas for the Tribal People, who have visited Mt. Hood, to gather food, since time immemorial.

To attend the August 16th event, folks can sign up at KWSO, located in the Warm Springs Media Center.  There is a liability release form that must be completed before the trip.  Transportation for 50 people will be provided.  Individuals and Families are invited to drive themselves up as well.

If you would like to sign-up via email – send your name, phone number, age, and if you plan on riding the bus – to kwso@wstribes.org.  Details about the trip and the liability release form can be downloaded below.  Sign-ups will be taken through Sunday August 12, 2018.

Contact Sue Matters at 541-460-2255 if you have additional questions.
