At the Tenino Fire briefing this morning, local resources were joined by two crews that arrived yesterday. The fire held at 9431 acres and 60% containment overnight. Firefighters will work on improving the perimeter today and focusing on hot spots.

The Mile Post 6 fire on the Crooked River National Grassland 50% contained at 1,500 acres and the campground at Haystack Reservoir has now been downgraded to a Level 1 evacuation.

SEATTLE (AP) — Forecasters and regulators say poor air quality will be common across parts of the Pacific Northwest this week as winds push smoke from surrounding wildfires into the region. Air quality alerts are in effect for much of Washington state through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency says smoky, hazy conditions are making a return to the Puget Sound region because of wildfires in British Columbia and the Cascade Mountains.

It’s Back to School today for first through eighth grade students at the Warm Springs K8 today. It is also a Late Start Monday – school begins at 9:45. On Late Start Mondays, Rise & Shine kids can arrive at 8am. Others should arrive by 9:35am, pick up breakfast and go to classrooms for a 9:45am start time. Kindergarten students start back tomorrow. On the Regular School Day Schedule, kids should arrive at school by 8:05, pick up breakfast and go to classrooms for an 8:15am start time. Breakfast closes at 8:25am.
