UNDATED (AP) — An earthquake and aftershock have been reported off the coast of south-central Oregon. The US Geological Survey says a quake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.2 struck just after 1:30 this morning more than 170 miles west of Coos Bay. About two hours later, an aftershock with a preliminary magnitude of 3.5 struck the area.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — State health officials say a second case of measles has been confirmed in Portland. The Oregon Health Authority on Tuesday said a person who was diagnosed Sunday had been in contact with a visitor to the area who was diagnosed with the measles earlier in August. People at most risk in the second case would have been at the Portland International Airport between 9:15 and 10:45 a.m. Friday; and between 8 and 11 a.m. Saturday at Marco’s Cafe and Espresso Bar in Portland.

The Warm Springs Fish & Wildlife Committee has scheduled a meeting for hunters next week where they will discuss the 2018 off-reservation hunting regulations. It will be on Tuesday at 5:30 at the Community Center.

The Oregon State Beavers football team is in central Oregon today, getting prepared for their season opener on the road against fifth ranked Ohio State. According to the Bend Bulletin, the team is staying at OSU-Cascades. The Beavers will have a run-through today at Summit High School, which is closed to the public. But the players will have a noon scrimmage on Thursday at Summit which will be open to the public and will be followed by an autograph session for fans.

The 2018 Airshow of the Cascades is this Friday and Saturday at the Madras Airport.  Gates open at 2pm Friday with a fish and chips dinner at 5:30. The Twilight show begins at 7:00 followed by fireworks and live music. Gates open at 9:00 AM on Saturday with the Elks serving the Aviator breakfast. The aerial show starts at 1:30 and there will also be live music.
