  • The Range & Agriculture Committee meets this morning from 9 to noon at the BNR Cougar Den. They are scheduled to meet twice a month on the 2nd and 4th
  • The Food Bank at the Warm Springs Commodities warehouse is open today from 10am to 1pm.
  • The Mountain Star Resource Bus will be in Warm Springs today providing diapers, wipes & other supplies for families who are registered with their program. It will be parked at the Community Center from 10:30-2:30 on today.
  • Friday is Senior Lunch Day in Warm Springs. Chili beans with corn bread & canned fruit are on the menu. Free meals for elders 60 and older are from noon to 1 every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday in the Senior Wellness Center dining room.
  • Free meals for seniors 60 and older are served every Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday at the Jefferson County Senior Center at 860 SW Madison St in Madras from 12-1.
  • Papalaxsimisha’s Women’s Craft Circle will meet today from noon until 2:00 in the Family Resource Center conference room. Women are invited to bring their craft projects to work on, visit and snack.
  • The Metolius Friends Food Pantry is open to all on Fridays from 4-6pm at 575 Hood Ave. You do need to bring your own bags.
  • On the Madras High School athletics schedule today:
    • Boys Basketball plays in The Dalles
      • JV2 at 5pm at Wahtonka High School
      • JV at 5pm at The Dalles High School
      • Varsity at 6:30pm at The Dalles High School
    • Girls Basketball plays at home vs. The Dalles
      • JV at 5:30pm
      • Varsity is at 7pm – KWSO will have a live broadcast from the Buffalo Dome
    • Boys Swimming competes at the Molalla Meet at 4pm

The High Desert Museum will host a Talk and Book Signing with Author Linda Meanus tomorrow (Jan. 24) from 1:30-2:30pm. You can RSVP for tickets online. It’s free for Tribal Members.

The Warm Springs Presbyterian Church is inviting folks to join for worship on Sunday, January 25th at 10am The Rev. Michael Wilson will be preaching, and a coffee hour to follow.

Warm Springs Tribal Appreciation Days at Kah-Nee-Ta Hot Springs Resort are offered on the first and last Sunday of each month. Tribal Member discounts include free admission for day use, half off of all cabana rentals, 25% off all food purchases and 10% off of pool house store items. The next Tribal Appreciation Day is coming up this Sunday from 11am to 7pm.

Warm Springs community members are invited to attend a meeting and dinner to learn about the Speedway & Saddle Butte Hybrid Wind & Solar Projects and to participate in the Tribal cultural review process for these projects. The meeting is being hosted by Warm Springs GeoVisions in coordination with the Tribal Historic Preservation Office. It will be on January 27th 6-8pm at the Greeley Heights Community Building. Warm Springs Housing Authority has mailed out update forms to everyone on their waitlist. The “Statement of Continued Interest” must be filled out and returned no later than 4pm on January 30th. Failure to do so will result in removal from the Housing waitlist. If you haven’t received your update in the mail, contact the Housing office.

The Miss Warm Springs Pageant will be held on Saturday, January 31st. They are seeking women age 18-24 who are interested in being a candidate. For information and an application, stop by the Tribal Council office, call 541-553-3257 or email Minnie.Yahtin@wstribes.org or Sandra.Danzuka@wstribes.org. The pageant is set for January 31st at 10am at the Agency Longhouse.

The annual Sweetheart Sale at the Community Center is on February 6th 9am-3pm. Call 541-553-3243 to reserve a table.

Wasco Electric Cooperative ha unclaimed capital credit payments for the years 1991, 1992, & 1993.  A list of members with unclaimed credits can be found their website. Members or their heirs must claim these payments by May.
