At the Senior Center – there is Senior Fitness Class this morning 10:45 to 11:45 with a lunch for participants after.
The Madras Community Food Pantry will be open 10am to 1pm today. It’s located on the Culver Highway.
The Life Raft Food Pantry located at 401 5th Street in Maupin serves the surrounding areas by providing food at no cost to the community Thursdays from 10AM – 3PM. The Dufur School Pantry is open to students and community members Thursdays from 4:30-6:30pm in the Home Ec Room at Dufur School. And the Neighbor-to-Neighbor Food Pantry on Emigrant Street in Wamic is open on the first and third Thursday of the month from 1-4pm.
The Wyam Youth Center is having a Native Movie Night this evening. They will screen 2 short films: a comedy film called “Guts” and the film “Braids.” “Braids” director Elise Beers will be in attendance and hold a Q&A after. The event starts at 6:00 at the Wyam Youth Center.
U.S. Senator Ron Wyden will hold his Jefferson County town hall meeting tomorrow (Jan. 16) at 1pm at the Madras Performing Arts Center.
Youth sports camps are held every Sunday in Warm Springs. The free camp offers agility training and open gym time for all youth ages 9-18 and will be held Sundays through April 19th from 12:30 to 2:30 in the old elementary gym.
The Miss Warm Springs Pageant will be held on Saturday, January 31st. They are seeking women age 18-24 who are interested in being a candidate. The pageant is set for January 31st at 10am at the Agency Longhouse.
The Warm Springs Health & Wellness Center uses alternate cell phone numbers for each department when their phone system experiences disruptions. These numbers are permanent. If you have trouble reaching the clinic through the main numbers, please use the alternate cell phone contact. The alternate number for Administration is 541-965-1465, Dental 541-965-3080, Medical Desk 541-965-1712, Optometry 503-913-3402 and Pharmacy Refills 541-325-6777.
There is a Boil Water Notice for the Simnasho/Schoolie Flat Water System in effect until further notice. When there is a boil water notice, you need to bring tap water to a rolling boil, boil for one minute, and cool before using. Or use bottled water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and preparing food. Simnasho residents can get drinking water from Three Warriors Market and also at Warm Springs Emergency Management’s Water Distribution center at 1116 Wasco Street.
