Boil Water Notice – Simnasho & Schoolie Flat

Thursday morning, June 4, 2026, residents in the Simnasho and Schoolie Flat areas were asked to immediately cut back on their water usage following an equipment failure. According to the CTWS Public Utilities Branch.  The existing water pump at the Simnasho water station near Highway 26 was failing and required replacement.  Residents were asked to conserve water until repairs could be completed.

As is the standard, whenever there is a disruption to the water distribution system, a boil water notice is issued until testing can be completed and the EPA reviews the tests before removing the notice.

A Boil Water Notice is in effect now until it is lifted, for the Simnasho and Schoolie Flat areas only.  During a boil water notice, do not drink the water directly from the tap. Bring your tap water to a rolling boil for 1 full minute. Let it cool completely before use.
