Today at the Warm Springs K-8 Academy, it is the AVID field trip to Smith Rock. It’s also the last day for the 21st Century after school program.
It’s Egg Drop Day at the K-8. Families are welcome to watch. Here are the egg drop times: 10:15-11 Kindergarten, 11:40-12:10 4th Grade, 12:30-1 5th Grade, 1-1:30 3rd Grade, 1:30-2 2nd Grade and 2:15-2:45 1st Grade.
The Madras Community Food Pantry will be open 10am to 1pm today. It’s located on the Culver Highway.
The Life Raft Food Pantry in Maupin is open Thursdays from 10AM – 3PM. The Dufur School Pantry is open to students and community members Thursdays from 4:30-6:30pm in the Home Ec Room Room. And the Neighbor-to-Neighbor Food Pantry in Wamic is open on the first and third Thursday of the month from 1-4pm.
At the Senior Center – there is Senior Fitness Class this morning 10:45 to 11:45 with a lunch for participants after.
The Sacred Road Kids Program is back in Warm Springs for kids in kindergarten through 6th grade behind the Community Center. It’s from 3-5pm today and Friday and includes games, crafts, snacks and bible story. No registration is necessary, kids can just show up. They will have the program every other week through the end of July.
The 21st Century Club at the Warm Springs K8 is hosting a Family Engagement Field Day today. This event is open to any family members of students enrolled in the 21st Century program. The event will run from 4:00-5:20 pm.
Thursday groups at Warm Springs Behavioral Health Center are On Second Thought at 4:00 and Embodiment Practice with Dr. Tam from 4-5:30pm. Dr. Tam’s group is open to the public.
Warm Springs’s Head Start’s End of the Year Celebration is this Friday (Jun 5). They’re having a BBQ lunch at 11:30 and outdoor play from noon until 2. Families should make sure to send extra clothes for outdoor fun.
Tomorrow (Jun 5) will be the Warm Springs K8’s monthly assembly where the will recognize students for Character Trait Awards, Student of the Month, Perfect Attendance and Class Awards. 8:15-8:45 will be the 3rd-5th Grade assembly. 9:00-9:30 is the Kinder-2nd Grade assembly. And 10:00-10:30 will be the 6th-8th Grade assembly.
The K-8’s 8th Grade Promotion will be tomorrow (Jun 5) from 1:30-2:30 in the gym. 8th grade families are encouraged to join in the celebration. A small reception will follow the assembly in the cafeteria.
The Bridges High School Graduation Ceremony is this Friday (Jun 5) 5:30-7:30pm at the high school football field. The Madras High School Graduation Ceremony is on Saturday (Jun 6) from 10:30-12.
Festival of the Land is happening this Saturday (Jun 6) at The Cove Palisades, Crooked River Day-Use Area from 10am-2pm. Admission & parking are free. Folks can enjoy hands-on activities, demonstrations, local vendors and live music.
An event coming up at the Warm Springs Health & Wellness Center will feature a panel of community members who have successfully lost weight with Wegovy and Ozempic. People who are interested in losing weight or becoming healthier and would like to hear their personal stories and insights are welcome to attend. It’s Wednesday, June 10th from 5-7pm in the clinic atrium. Health snacks will be provided.
The Warm Springs Police Department has temporarily contracted with Frontier Regional 911 to assist with dispatch during overnight hours. Frontier is handling all 911 and emergency dispatch services for the Warm Springs PD between the hours of 6pm and 6am. During these hours, community members who need non-emergency assistance from the police department should call 541-384-2080.
