• School’s out, but free summer meals are officially in! Head to Buff Elementary today for breakfast from 8:15 to 8:45 AM and lunch from 11:00 to 11:30 AM. Open to all kids and teens ages 1–18 with no cost or enrollment required.
• On the Tribal Council Agenda this morning – District of Oregon US Attorney Consultation; and Bend City Council Visit. This afternoon – Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield.
• Warm Springs Community Health’s mobile medical clinics are able to help folks with medical problems, medications, STI tests and immunizations. It will be set up this morning from 9-11:30 at the Shelter dining hall.
• The Madras Community Food Pantry at 370 SW Culver Highway is open 10-1 today.
• The Warm Springs Commodities Food Bank, located at 4217 Holliday Street in the Industrial Park, is open 10 until 1 today.
• Warm Springs Behavioral Health has groups every Wednesday that are open to the public. At 10am is A&D Education in the conference room. At 3:00 is Building Relationships group. And there is a Wellbriety meeting & book study at 4. Also on Wednesday afternoons at 4, there’s an A&D Education group for adults and a the Youth Wellbriety Program meets. Both of those are for current BHC clients.
• Today is Senior Lunch from noon to 1 at the Warm Springs Senior Building. Today they are serving tamales & enchiladas, beans & rice, salad and canned fruit.
• Warm Springs Community Health Program has a hand sewing circle that meets every Tuesday at noon in the I H S atrium. Lunch and supplies are provided for participants.
• The Sacred Road Summer Program for kids in kindergarten through 6th grade is happening this week behind the Warm Springs Community Center from 3-5pm and includes games, crafts, snacks and bible story. No registration is necessary, kids can just show up. They will have the program every other week through the end of July.
• SriPonya Collective presents the Brothers & Sisters in Progress Steps to Freedom Re-entry group Tuesdays from 5:30-7pm at the Jefferson County Library in Madras. It’s a peer-led weekly support group where people returning from prison build a healthy support system. There is also a Zoom option to attend. Every 2^nd Tuesday the group meets virtually only. Shawnetta Yahtin’s monthly Talking Circle in the Health & Wellness Center atrium from 9-10am tomorrow. Light snacks are provided.

Warm Springs Prevention is having a 4^th of July Powwow tomorrow (7/1) at the Campus Pavilion. They’re providing a Hawaiian meal at 5pm and the powwow starts at 6. There will be door prizes & raffles. All dancers & drummers are welcome. Bring a lawn chair.

KWSO will be broadcasting the Waterfront Blues Festival from Portland this Thursday, Friday and Saturday from noon until around 10pm each day.  The broadcast is courtesy of KBOO radio and in collaboration with Oregon Community Media.

Art Adventure Gallery will have an opening reception this Thursday (7/2) for its newest exhibit featuring Tananawit Warm Springs Artists. It’s from 5-7:30pm at the gallery located on 5^th Street in Madras.

Celebrate Independence Day at the Warm Springs 4th of July events this Saturday. The theme “250 Years of America, Time Immemorial Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs.”

• The day kicks off with a 5k fun run/walk starting at 8am, with registration opening at 7:30 on-site and pre-registration available now at the Community Center office.
• Charles is sponsoring a breakfast for veterans at the old school cafeteria from 8-10:30am.
• Parade festivities begin with a 9am lineup at the old elementary school, followed by float judging at 10 and the parade starts at 11.
• Afterward, head to the Community Center for a BBQ at noon, a horseshoe tournament at 12:30, and family fun games on the fields starting around 1:30.
• The celebration will conclude with a fireworks display at dusk.
• At 10pm on the 4th of July there will be a drone show at the Community Center ball fields. At that time – for everyone’s safety – all fireworks need to stop until the show is over. So, if you have your own fireworks and set them off in Warm Springs – please remember to stop at 10 on the 4th of July so everyone can enjoy the drone show safely.  The drone show will last about 15 minutes.

In Madras for the 4^th of July – The Madras Elks Breakfast starts at 7am.  The Todd Beamer Run starts then as well. Vendors will be set up at 9am until noon.  The Parade is at 10am and Madras Sparklers Fireworks will start at 10pm.  Fireworks will be at the high school with all other events at Sahalee Park.

A free legal clinic will be held in Warm Springs on Monday, July 6th, from 9am to noon at the Warm Springs Community Action Team building. Services include help with wills, estate planning, expungement, tenant and employee rights, domestic violence protection, and public benefits for those who qualify. To make an appointment, call 541-668-8352. Walk‑ins are welcome, but wait times may vary. The clinic is provided by the Native American Program of Legal Aid Services of Oregon. There will also be clinics August and September.

Warm Springs OSU Extension’s Summer Fruit Loop Tour is on Wednesday, July 8^th. They will depart from the Education Building at 8am and visit several orchards along the Hood River Fruit Loop. Bring a lunch, snacks, water and money for purchasing produce. Transportation is available or you may drive your own vehicle and follow. The Community Wellness Center is taking signups for its Cooking Around the World program this summer. Youth will learn to prepare favorite dishes from France, Italy, Hungary, Mexico & China. The first class will be on July 9. Space is limited so interested youth should sign up now at the Recreation office.
