- The Simnasho Tribal Market is open Saturdays and Sundays 10am – 2pm through Labor Day weekend, by the Simnasho Longhouse. Tribal Vendors are welcome and visitors are encouraged. You can contact Howie Patt or Delson Suppah to learn more.
There is a Tai Chi class tomorrow (7/20) from 6-7pm in the Community Center aerobics room. It’s free and all skill levels are welcome.
Warm Springs Nation T-Ball Registration is being taken in person in the Family Resource Center conference room this week on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday (7/21-23) from 5:30-7:30pm. There is no cost to register for t-ball. Birth certificates are required to verify age. Kids need to be 6 or 7 to participate.
Warm Springs Prevention is having a summer movie night Tuesday, July 21st at the campus pavilion. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on. It will start around 9:30pm.
“Red, White & Blue, This Fair is For You” is the theme of the 2026 Jefferson County Fair & Rodeo, which runs July 22-25 at the Jefferson County Event Complex in Madras. Entertainment includes 11 live bands, music bingo, Jefferson County’s Got Talent and more. The NPRA Rodeo will be Friday & Saturday at the fair. Admission to the fair is free, but it does cost to get into the rodeo – $15 for adults, $7 for ages 6-12 and free for kids 5 & under. You can visit JCFair.fun to get more details.
A Berry Feast & Powwow Celebration to welcome the first berries of the year will be held July 25-26 at the Hehe Longhouse. Saturday at 5pm will be a potluck meal so bring your favorite dish and the powwow starts at 7pm. The feast ceremony starts at 9am on Sunday.
The deadline for submitting the CTWS Scholarship Application has been extended to July 31st. For applications received between July 17-31, a 10% deduction per day will be applied to the annual scholarship for each day late. The 2026-2027 Needs Analysis Summary does not have to be turned in to the student’s college Financial Aid Office until the beginning of the Fall Term 2026. Students do not need to submit scholarship denial or confirmation letters until they receive that information from the Oregon Tribal Student Grant, Federal Aid or any of the other 5-7 scholarship organizations they applied to. Voters in the Madras Aquatic Center Recreation District will decide on August 4 whether to recall four members of the district’s board of directors. Ballots have been mailed to eligible registered voters. Completed ballots must be returned to the Jefferson County Clerk by 8 p.m. on Election Day, August 4, or be postmarked by August 4 and received within the state’s allowed timeframe to be counted.

The Warm Springs Police Department has temporarily contracted with Frontier Regional 911 to assist with dispatch during overnight hours. Frontier is handling all 911 and emergency dispatch services for the Warm Springs PD between the hours of 6pm and 6am. During these hours, community members who need non-emergency assistance from the police department should call 541-384-2080.
