The Senior Building will be closed on Monday. Staff will be cooking at the fire evacuation shelter.
The Boys and Girls Club will be closed on Monday. They plan to re-open on Tuesday.
The Jefferson County School District has cancelled all summer programming for Monday at all sites. There will be no summer school at Madras Elementary, Bridges High School or Madras High School. All the summer meals sites will be closed as well.
The summer art camp for youth scheduled for this week at the Community Center has been postponed until a later date.
Medical Teams International, in collaboration with Warm Springs Managed Care, will host a free dental clinic tomorrow (7/27) from 11am until 4pm at the Campus Pavilion. They can provide dental extractions and fillings. Appointments are not necessary and services are provided at no cost. There will also be a free urgent dental clinic in Madras on Tuesday, July 28 from 9-2 at the Madras Shelter. Space for that is limited – call for appointments 971-710-8603.
There is Tai Chi class tomorrow (7/27) from 6-7pm in the Community Center aerobics room. It’s free and all skill levels are welcome.
The Sacred Road Summer Program for kids in kindergarten through 6th grade is happening this week behind the Warm Springs Community Center. It’s from 3-5pm Monday through Friday and includes games, crafts, snacks and bible story. No registration is necessary, kids can just show up. They will have the program every other week through the end of July.
Warm Springs Community Health mobile medical clinics can help folks with medical problems, medications, STI tests and – by appointment – procedures. The next mobile medical clinic is on Tuesday, July 28th 9-11:30am at the Shelter Dining Hall. Walk-ins & appointments are available with RaNeva Dowty, Dr. Frey & Nurse Shirley. Warm Springs Recreation is having a toy sale & swap on Friday, August 7 from 10am until noon at the Community Center. You can reserve a table at the Rec office.
Tribal artists are being sought to bead the 2027 Miss Warm Springs crown and/or banner. For details and to submit a bid, contact Minnie.Yahtin@wstribes.org or Sandra.Danzuka@wstribes.org. The deadline is August 14th.
Warm Springs community members who are the primary caregivers of children under 18 are invited to participate in a conversation about what makes a community a place where people feel they belong. It’s on Tuesday, August 4th from 5:30-7:30pm in the old school cafeteria. A meal and gift card will be provided, as well as activities for children. The Warm Springs Police Department has temporarily contracted with Frontier Regional 911 to assist with dispatch during overnight hours. Frontier is handling all 911 and emergency dispatch services for the Warm Springs PD between the hours of 6pm and 6am. During these hours, community members who need non-emergency assistance from the police department should call 541-384-2080.
