• Free Summer Meals Today for Kids: Don’t miss out on a healthy, free meal today at Buff Elementary. Breakfast is served from 8:15 to 8:45 AM, and lunch is ready from 11:00 to 11:30 AM for all youth ages 1–18. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
• The Community Wellness Center has Sandlot Softball every Thursday at 10am at the Pi-ume-sha Field. Everyone is welcome to join them for slow-pitch softball games and music every Thursday during summer break.
• The Madras Community Food Pantry will be open 10am to 1pm today. It’s located on the Culver Highway.
• The Life Raft Food Pantry in Maupin is open Thursdays from 10AM – 3PM. The Dufur School Pantry is open Thursdays from 4:30-6:30pm in the Home Ec Room. And the Neighbor-to-Neighbor Food Pantry in Wamic is open on the first and third Thursday of the month from 1-4pm.
• The Thursday Market is today from 10:30am – 2pm at the Campus Pavillion. We will have crafts vendors, Fresh Harvest Kits plus Veggie RX from the High Desert Food and Farm Alliance. Best Care will be at the Campus Pavilion and Cascade East Transit will be on hand to help folks understand how you can get a bus pass.  Anyone can set up.  Tables and chairs are provided but first come, first serve. Stop by the KWSO booth – we look forward to seeing you!
• Pick up for Veggie Rx participants will be at the Thursday Market from 11 am – 2 pm. Please check in with Barbara at the HDFFA table. And if you are eligible and opted in, delivery will begin around 2:30 pm.
• At the Senior Center – there is Senior Fitness Class this morning 10:45 to 11:45 with a lunch for participants after.
• KWSO will be broadcasting the Waterfront Blues Festival from Portland starting today, running tomorrow and on Saturday – from 1pm until around 10:30pm each day. The broadcast is courtesy of KBOO radio and in collaboration with Oregon Community Media.
• The Sacred Road Summer Program for kids in kindergarten through 6th grade is happening today behind the Warm Springs Community Center from 3-5pm.
• Thursday groups at Warm Springs Behavioral Health Center are On Second Thought at 4:00 and Embodiment Practice with Dr. Tam from 4-5:30pm. Dr. Tam’s group is open to the public.
• Art Adventure Gallery will have an opening reception this evening for its newest exhibit featuring Tananawit Warm Springs Artists. It’s from 5-7:30pm at the gallery located on 5^th Street in Madras.

Warm Springs Community Action Team is seeking tribal crafts & arts vendors to take part in pop-up opportunities on the weekends through the summer at the Commissary Outdoor Pavilion. No food vendors. Call 541-553-3148 to inquire about “pavilion vendors” or email Starla@WSCAT.org.

Tomorrow is the observation of Independence Day. The Tribal Organization will be closed ahead of the July 4^th holiday.

Cascades East Transit (CET) fixed & flex route bus, community connector and dial-a-ride services will be closed this Friday & Saturday (7/3-4).

Celebrate Independence Day at the Warm Springs 4th of July events on Saturday, honoring the theme “250 Years of America, Time Immemorial Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs.”

• The day kicks off with a 5k fun run/walk starting at 8am, with registration opening at 7:30 on-site and pre-registration available now at the Community Center office.
• Charles is sponsoring a breakfast for veterans at the old school cafeteria from 8-10:30am.
• Parade festivities begin with a 9am lineup at the old elementary school, followed by float judging at 10 and the parade starts at 11.
• Afterward, head to the Community Center for a BBQ at noon, a horseshoe tournament at 12:30, and family fun games on the fields starting around 1:30.
• The celebration will conclude with a fireworks display at dusk.
• At 10pm on the 4th of July there will be a drone show at the Community Center ball fields. At that time – for everyone’s safety – all fireworks need to stop until the show is over. So, if you have your own fireworks and set them off in Warm Springs – please remember to stop at 10 on the 4th of July so everyone can enjoy the drone show safely.  The drone show will last about 15 minutes.

In Madras for the 4^th of July – The Madras Elks Breakfast starts at 7am.  The Todd Beamer Run starts then as well. Vendors will be set-up from 9am until noon.  The Parade is at 10am and Madras Sparklers Fireworks will start at 10pm.  Fireworks will be at the high school with all other events at Sahalee Park.

A free legal clinic will be held in Warm Springs on Monday, July 6th, from 9am to noon at the Warm Springs Community Action Team building. Services include help with wills, estate planning, expungement, tenant and employee rights, domestic violence protection, and public benefits for those who qualify. To make an appointment, call 541-668-8352. Walk‑ins are welcome, but wait times may vary. The clinic is provided by the Native American Program of Legal Aid Services of Oregon. There will also be clinics August and September.

Warm Springs OSU Extension’s Summer Fruit Loop Tour is on Wednesday, July 8^th. They will depart from the Education Building at 8am and visit several orchards along the Hood River Fruit Loop. Bring a lunch, snacks, water and money for purchasing produce. Transportation is available or you may drive your own vehicle and follow. Central Oregon Community College is offering free youth camps in July & August for ages 10-15 at the Madras campus. Upcoming youth camps are: Mapmaking with Watercolor, Day in the Outdoors, Theater Arts, Creative Collages, Adventure Writing and Sewing.
