  • Committee Updates are on the Tribal Council agenda today. This morning –Range & Ag; Fish & Wildlife – Off Reservation; and Fish & Wildlife – On Reservation. This afternoon – US Fish & Wildlife Hatcheries Review; Culture & Heritage Committee; and Education Committee.
  • The Madras Community Food Pantry at 370 SW Culver Highway is open 10-1 today.
  • Today is Senior Lunch from noon to 1 at the Warm Springs Senior Building. On the menu – black bean spinach casserole, spring mix salad, bread & fresh fruit.
  • Warm Springs Community Health Program has a hand sewing circle that meets every Tuesday at noon in the I H S atrium. Lunch and supplies are provided for participants.
  • The NeighborImpact Mobile Food Pantry will be open at the Culver High School Ag Shop Parking Lot this afternoon from 3-4.
  • Warm Springs Nation T-Ball Registration is being taken in person in the Family Resource Center conference room today, tomorrow and Thursday (7/21-23) from 5:30-7:30pm. There is no cost to register for t-ball. Birth certificates are required to verify age. Kids need to be 6 or 7 to participate.
  • SriPonya Collective presents the Brothers & Sisters in Progress Steps to Freedom Re-entry group Tuesdays from 5:30-7pm at the Jefferson County Library in Madras. It’s a peer-led weekly support group where people returning from prison build a healthy support system. There is also a Zoom option to attend. Every 2nd Tuesday the group meets virtually only. Tomorrow is Tribal Appreciation Day at Kah-Nee-Ta Resort. There is free admission for day use from 11am to 7pm. Tribal Appreciation Days are open to tribal members, spouses, Warm Springs residents and tribal enterprise employees. Warm Springs Tribal Appreciation Days at Kah-Nee-Ta Resort are held every other Wednesday through September.

Papalaxsimisha’s pre-college summer series continues this Wednesday (7/22) at the old school cafeteria. Dinner is provided at 5:30 and the session is from 6-7:30. It’s a chance to get a head start on your college journey – learn about financial aid, applying to college, scholarships and get support on your path to college.

Warm Springs Community Health mobile medical clinics can help folks with medical problems, medications, STI tests and – by appointment – procedures. The next mobile medical clinics are this Thursday, July 23rd at the Thursday Market and Tuesday, July 28th 9-11:30am at the Shelter Dining Hall. Walk-ins & appointments are available with RaNeva Dowty, Dr. Frey & Nurse Shirley. Call 541-553-2352 if you want to schedule.

A Berry Feast & Powwow Celebration to welcome the first berries of the year will be held July 25-26 at the Hehe Longhouse. Saturday at 5pm will be a potluck meal so bring your favorite dish and the powwow starts at 7pm. The feast ceremony starts at 9am on Sunday.

Papalaxsimisha, Warm Springs Recreation & Southern Oregon University’s “All My Relations” Program are having a summer art camp for youth July 27-29 from 9-3 in the Community Center social hall. Register with the Community Center office 541-553-3243. Families are welcome to join for a showcase of the artwork on Wednesday, July 29th at 5:30 with dinner provided.

The next Warm Springs legal clinic is coming up on Monday, August 3rd. It runs from 9am to noon at the Warm Springs Community Action Team building. Qualifying community members can receive free help with wills, estate planning, expungement, tenant and employee rights, domestic violence protection, and public benefits. Appointments are available at 541-668-8352. Walk‑ins are welcome. The clinic is offered by the Native American Program of Legal Aid Services of Oregon.

The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs is advertising vacancies on 3 boards – 1 position on the Credit Board, 1 position on the Cannabis Regulatory Commission and 2 positions on the Warm Springs Local Housing Authority Board of Commissioners. Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest, resume and signed criminal & credit background check form to the office of the Secretary-Treasurer at the Tribal Administration Building by 5pm on Monday, August 10th.

Tribal artists are being sought to bead the 2027 Miss Warm Springs crown and/or banner. For details and to submit a bid, contact Minnie.Yahtin@wstribes.org or Sandra.Danzuka@wstribes.org. The deadline is August 14th.

Anyone interested in using the Community Center facilities including the social hall or the pavilion should complete a building use request that can be picked up at the Recreation Office.  Call 541-553-3243 if you have questions.

Tribal members are being asked to review and provide comments on the Jones Canyon Tower Replacement Project Assessment. We have a link to the informational website and survey on today’s calendar on the KWSO website. Hard copies are also available at the Branch of Natural Resources office.
