  • Jefferson County School District 509J is serving free breakfast and lunch today for all kids and teens 1–18. Stop by Buff Elementary, the Warm Springs Boys & Girls Club, or Bridges High School at their scheduled times. Show up, eat, and enjoy!
  • On today’s Tribal Council agenda, this morning – Tribal Member Concerns from 9-11am. This afternoon – Updates from Education; Purchasing; and Human Resources.
  • The Madras Community Food Pantry at 370 SW Culver Highway is open 10-1 today.
  • The Warm Springs Commodities Food Bank, located at 4217 Holliday Street in the Industrial Park, is open 10 until 1 today.
  • Warm Springs Behavioral Health has groups every Wednesday that are open to the public. At 10am is A&D Education in the conference room. At 3:00 is Building Relationships group. And there is a Wellbriety meeting & book study at 4. Also on Wednesday afternoons at 4, there’s an A&D Education group for adults and the Youth Wellbriety Program meets. Both of those are for current BHC clients.
  • Today is Senior Lunch from noon to 1 at the Warm Springs Senior Building.
  • Warm Springs Community Health Program has a hand sewing circle that meets every Tuesday at noon in the I H S atrium. Lunch and supplies are provided for participants. For more info contact Charlene 541-553-2352 or Moody@wstribes.org.
  • Division of Child Support employees are in Warm Springs today at the DHS office providing in-person assistance with completing forms and answering questions about child support. They are there on the first Tuesday of every month from 1-3pm. Walk-ins and appointments are welcome.   • The Warm Springs Johnson O’Malley Committee has a meeting scheduled for this evening 5:15-8pm in conference room at the Early Childhood Education Center. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month. If you need to contact the JOM Committee email JOM@wstribes.org.
  • SriPonya Collective presents the Brothers & Sisters in Progress Steps to Freedom Re-entry group Tuesdays from 5:30-7pm at the Jefferson County Library in Madras. It’s a peer-led weekly support group where people returning from prison build a healthy support system. There is also a Zoom option to attend. Every 2nd Tuesday the group meets virtually only. Warm Springs OSU Extension’s Summer Fruit Loop Tour happens tomorrow (Jul 8). They will depart from the Education Building at 8am and visit several orchards along the Hood River Fruit Loop. Bring a lunch, snacks, water and money for purchasing produce. Transportation is available or you may drive your own vehicle and follow. Tomorrow (Jul 8) is Warm Springs Tribal Appreciation Day at Kah-Nee-Ta Resort. There is free admission for day use from 11am to 7pm. Discounts are also offered on cabana rentals, food in the restaurant and purchases at the pool house store. Warm Springs Tribal Appreciation Days are open to tribal members, spouses, Warm Springs residents and tribal enterprise employees. Warm Springs Tribal Appreciation Days at Kah-Nee-Ta Resort are held every other Wednesday through September.

A meeting to discuss on and off reservation hunting regulations for tribal hunters will be held tomorrow (Jul 8) from 5-8pm in the old school cafeteria from 5-8pm.

The Community Wellness Center is taking signups for its Cooking Around the World program this summer. Youth will learn to prepare favorite dishes from France, Italy, Hungary, Mexico & China. The first class will be on Thursday, July 9. Space is limited so interested youth should sign up now at the Recreation office.

The Plateau Travel Plaza is inviting the community to celebrate the completion of its major expansion during a Grand Opening celebration on Saturday, July 11th from noon until 9 p.m. The event begins with a cultural blessing and ribbon cutting, followed by fuel discounts, café tastings, KWSO will be there, plus a Kid Zone, prize giveaways, arts and crafts, and a drone show at 9 p.m. Warm Springs Tribal Member arts and craft vendors are still being sought for the event. Warm Springs OSU Extension Service presents Honeybee Basics with Oregon Master Beekeepers on Sunday, July 12th from 10 to noon. Stop by a local apiary for a quick Q&A on honeybees and native bees, then suit up for a hands‑on hive inspection—protective gear, snacks, and refreshments included. Pre‑registration is required. Warm Springs Community Health mobile medical clinics can help folks with medical problems, medications, STI tests and – by appointment – procedures. The next mobile medical clinic is on Monday, July 13th from 10am to 3pm at the Sidwalter Flats Fire Station. There are also clinics scheduled for July 16th at the Simnasho Fire Station, July 23rd at the Thursday Market and July 28th at the Shelter Dining Hall. The Warm Springs Police Department has temporarily contracted Frontier Regional 911 to assist with dispatch during overnight hours. Frontier is handling all 911 and emergency dispatch services for the Warm Springs PD between the hours of 6pm and 6am. During these hours, community members who need non-emergency assistance from the police department should call 541-384-2080.
