Warm Springs Tribal Council is in session today. On their agenda are budget Call Backs for the Museum at Warm Springs; Credit Enterprise; Warm Springs Power and Water, Warm Springs Economic Development and Kah-Nee-Ta Hot Springs Resort; the Cannabis Commission; and Warm Springs Housing Authority.
The 2027 Warm Springs Tribal Employee Open Enrollment Period runs from October 1st through the 29th. Be sure to confirm your email by this Friday, September 25th to receive your CTWS.Ease.com log-in details. Contact HR at 541-553-3262 if you have any questions.
It’s First Responder Appreciation Day at Kah-Nee-Ta Hot Springs Resort today and next Tuesday with a complementary resort admission for firefighters, first responders, law enforcement and their families. The next two Wednesdays are Tribal Member appreciation day and then in October that will move to Sundays.
The Oregon Employment Department’s mobile WorkSource Oregon center will be in Warm Springs at the Community Center parking lot from 9:30-3:30 today to help folks with career support and job searches.
The Reservation Impact Food Bank at the Warm Springs Commodities Warehouse is open today from 10AM to 1PM. Meanwhile, the Madras Community Food Pantry on Culver Highway is also open from 10 til 1.
Free Dental Clinics are happening this week at the Old School Cafeteria today and tomorrow 9am-2pm. Services provided include dental extractions & fillings. No appointment necessary. Services are provided at no cost.
Warm Springs Community Health’s Mobile Medical Clinic will be located at the Simnasho Fire Station today from 10am to 3pm. They can help with medical problems, medications, STI tests, and – by appointment – procedures. Walk-ins and appointments are welcome.
Today is Senior Lunch from noon to 1 at the Warm Springs Senior Building. On the menu: Indian burgers, sweet potato fried, green salad & jello with mandarins.

In Middle School Sports – Warm Springs K8 Football plays at Culver at 5pm this afternoon.
The SriPonya Collective invites individuals returning home from prison to Brothers & Sisters in Progress, a peer-led re-entry support group. Connect with a strong community network, access vital resources, learn goal-setting strategies, and gain eligibility for peer support specialist scholarships. The group meets every Tuesday from 5:30 to 7pm at 43 Cherry Lane, Suite 104 in Madras. There is also a virtual option to attend. The Madras-Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce is coordinating local Candidate Forums. This evening at 6:30pm there will be a forum for Jefferson County Sheriff candidates at the Ranch Chapel in Crooked River Ranch.
The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs will host a Huckleberry Habitat Management Workshop tomorrow from 10am to 2:15pm at the Hehe Longhouse. This is for tribal members and traditional harvesters to share knowledge, concerns, and priorities around huckleberry stewardship to help guide the future of huckleberry habitat across Warm Springs.
Fall term GED classes in Warm Springs have begun at the Education Building. You can register during the first weeks of classes that are Mondays and Wednesdays noon til 3 at the Warm Springs Education Building and 3-7 at the COCC Madras Campus.
A Car Seat & Community Health Resource Fair will take place Saturday, September 26th at Jefferson County Public Health in Madras. From 10-3, folks can stop by for free certified car seat checks, free car seats for eligible families, pizza, raffle prizes, and community family resource booths.
The Jefferson County Cowdeo is coming up Saturday, September 26th at the fairgrounds in Madras. Gates open at 8am.
KWSO is celebrating our 40th anniversary with a free screening of the award-winning documentary Bad Press. The film chronicles the courageous fight of Muscogee (Creek) Nation journalists as they defend the freedom of their press against attempts at censorship, highlighting the tension between tribal sovereignty and transparency while documenting the vital role of independent Indigenous media. Everyone is welcome to the event Wednesday, September 30th at the Madras Performing Arts Center. Doors open at 3pm with refreshments, the screening starts at 4 and a panel discussion will follow.
