The Food Bank at the Warm Springs Commodities warehouse is open today from 10am to 1pm.
Friday is Senior Lunch Day in Warm Springs. Broccoli, ham & cheese soup with crackers & fruit is on the menu today. Free meals for elders 60 and older are from noon to 1 every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday in the Senior Wellness Center dining room.
Free meals for seniors 60 and older are served every Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday at the Jefferson County Senior Center at 860 SW Madison St in Madras from 12-1.
U.S. Senator Ron Wyden will hold his Jefferson County town hall meeting this afternoon at 1:00 at the Madras Performing Arts Center.
The Metolius Friends Food Pantry is open to all on Fridays from 4-6pm at 575 Hood Ave. You do need to bring your own bags.

Positions are being advertised for the TERO Commission, Indian Head Casino Board of Directors, Warm Springs Composite Board, Warm Springs Local Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, Warm Springs Power & Water Enterprise Board, Telco Board of Directors, Waterboard and Warm Springs Credit Board of Directors. Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest, resume & signature on a criminal/credit background check to the office of the Secretary-Treasurer no later than 5pm today.

OSU Extension Service in Warm Springs is having a Food Preservation Class for you to learn how to make and preserve homemade barbecue & marinara sauces. The 21st Century After School Program at the Warm Springs K-8 is looking for a SMART Reading volunteer who will spend one hour a week reading with children in our community. Warm Springs Tribal Appreciation Days at Kah-Nee-Ta Hot Springs Resort are offered on the first and last Sunday of each month. Tribal Member discounts include free admission for day use, half off of all cabana rentals, 25% off all food purchases and 10% off of pool house store items. Included in your day pass is – use of all 7 pools and cold tubs, mini golf, pickleball, basketball, bocce ball, spike ball, 4-square volleyball and interactive video games. The next Tribal Appreciation Days are coming up Sunday, January 25th and February 1st. Kah-Nee-Ta also offers daily Tribal Member discounts and amenities for day and twilight passes, cabana rentals, Spa Wanapine, overnight lodging, the Tribal Picnic Pavilions and Tribal Bathhouse. A free Suicide Prevention & Education training for Warm Springs community will be held Monday, February 16th 6-7:30pm in the old school cafeteria. Participants will learn how to recognize the warning signs and what you can do to help. Register at the Warm Springs Prevention or Lines for Life Office. Motorists are encouraged to reduce speed in areas where there is a lot of pedestrian traffic or bike traffic after dark. Going slower is one way to ensure the safety of those folks walking and biking. Stay safe out there.
