Today is Martin Luther King Jr Day – a federal holiday. There is no school today.
The Boys & Girls Club is closed today for the holiday.
The Community Center will be serving breakfast for kids from 8:30-9:30 this morning. They will serve breakfast in the mornings on no-school days throughout the school year.
Tribal Council will meet today. On the agenda this morning, Secretary-Treasurer Update; February Agenda/Travel Delegations/Review Minutes; Draft Resolutions; and Enrollments. This afternoon, IHS Update; Managed Care Update; Health & Human Services; and Admin Service Update.
The Health & Welfare Committee meets today from 9am until noon at the clinic. The Education Committee will meet from noon to 2:30 at the Wyam Youth Center. Both committees are scheduled to meet twice monthly on the 1st and 3rd Mondays.
Senior Fitness Class at the Senior Center is every Monday and Thursday morning at 10:45 with a lunch for participants after.
The Hydro Panel Facility in the Industrial Park is open today for free drinking water. Warm Springs community members can stop by between 8am and 5pm to fill their containers.
There’s a bingo night fundraiser for people 18 and older this evening at the old school cafeteria. It starts at 5:30. It is a fundraiser for Marine Corps League.
A Committee Community Update meeting will be held this Thursday, January 22nd at the Agency Longhouse. From 3-4:30 will be the Land Use Planning, Timber and Culture & Heritage Committees followed by a light. 5:30-6 will be the Education Committee & Water Control Board. A community giveaway will be done at 6.
The Warm Springs Tribes offers an emergency notification system but folks need to opt in to receive messages. In the event of winter weather impacts on roads making travel hazardous for employees, there could be changes to work or service hours. The alert system communicates information to employees and the general public via e-mail messages. To participate you can sign up online or contact the Tribes’ Office of Information Systems.
2026 Lincoln’s Powwow is February 13-15 at the Simnasho Longhouse. Grand entry times are 7pm Friday, 1pm Saturday and 1:30 on Sunday. Specials will include a Men’s 18+ All Around Honoring Beloved Powwow Member Jermayne Tuckta, a Women’s 18+ Pathlapa Special by the Slockish Family honoring Suzie Slockish and a Men’s 18+ Chicken Dance Special by the Boise Family honoring Triston Boise.
