- The Warm Springs K8’s Native American Student Union for 6th, 7th & 8th grade students will meet today during the lunch period the in the school Community Room.
- There is a senior lunch today at noon at the Warm Springs Senior Center dining area. Senior meals are free for all elders age 60 and older. Folks can join the seniors for lunch – it’s $1 for Youth, $5 for adults or you can assist with clean-up after the meal. Today they are serving baked salmon with mashed cauliflower, roasted roots & veggies & fresh fruit.
- Seniors age 60 and older can get free meals Wednesdays at noon at the Jefferson County Senior Center in Madras.
- Social Dance Classes are held Wednesdays from 3:30-5pm in the Community Center Aerobics Room. Classes are open to all ages, and no sign-up is required. If you have questions, contact Deanie Johnson at Culture & Heritage.
- The Culture & Heritage Committee is scheduled to meet from 3:30-7pm today at the Education Building. It meets two times per month on the 1st and 3rd
A Committee Community Update meeting will be held tomorrow (Jan. 22) at the Agency Longhouse. From 3-4:30 will be the Land Use Planning, Timber and Culture & Heritage Committees followed by a light meal. 5:30-6 will be the Education Committee & Water Control Board. A community giveaway will be done at 6.
Papalaxsimisha’s Women’s Craft Circle will meet this Friday (Jan. 23) from noon until 2:00 in the Family Resource Center conference room. Women are invited to bring their craft projects to work on, visit and snack.
Youth sports camps are held every Sunday in Warm Springs. The free camp offers agility training and open gym time for all youth ages 9-18 and will be held Sundays through April 19th from 12:30 to 2:30 in the old elementary gym.
KWSO’s annual Mt. Hood Meadows – Warm Springs Tribal Day is coming up Monday, February 2nd, a no school day. Anyone interested in participating to ski, snowboard, cross country ski, or snowshoe can sign up now. To sign up, email sue.matters@wstribes.org with the name, date of birth, phone number and email address for each person who will be participating and whether or not anyone, age 4 or older, need a beginner lesson, complete the online liability release form for each participant and complete and return a Group Consent Form for each participant. A Suicide Awareness Wild Horse Race Clinic in White Swan, WA is planned for April 25th and 26th. It’s open to individuals and teams, juniors age 6-12 and seniors 13-19. Books will be open both days until 9am. For more information, call or text Nate at 971-900-2069.
