Funeral Arrangements for Virgil Eli Culps – Today (Feb. 5) they will depart Bel-Air Funeral Home at 12:30pm to the Agency Longhouse for the dressing at 1. All denomination services will start at 7pm with services overnight. Friday (Feb. 6) they will leave the Agency Longhouse at 8am for burial at Simnasho Cemetery.
Today is the Warm Springs K8 Elementary Oregon Battle of the Books Tournament. K8 Girls Basketball teams have games at Crook County Middle School this afternoon. K8 Wrestling has a meet at Jefferson County Middle School. Tomorrow is the K8’s February Assemblies.
The Madras Community Food Pantry will be open 10am to 1pm today. It’s located on the Culver Highway.
The Life Raft Food Pantry located at 401 5th Street in Maupin serves the surrounding areas by providing food at no cost to the community Thursdays from 10AM – 3PM. The Dufur School Pantry is open to students and community members Thursdays from 4:30-6:30pm in the Home Ec Room at Dufur School. And the Neighbor-to-Neighbor Food Pantry on Emigrant Street in Wamic is open on the first and third Thursday of the month from 1-4pm.
At the Senior Center – there is Senior Fitness Class this morning 10:45 to 11:45 with a lunch for participants after.
The annual Sweetheart Sale at the Community Center is tomorrow (Feb. 6) 9am-3pm.
Papalaxsimisha’s Women’s Craft Circle will meet tomorrow (Feb. 6) from noon until 2:00 in the Family Resource Center conference room. Women are invited to bring their craft projects to work on, visit and snack.
Art Adventure Gallery invites the public to an opening reception for its latest exhibit featuring the work of Mike Kelly today 4:30-7pm at the gallery located on 5th Street in Madras.
Warm Springs Prevention will present Opioid Information & Narcan Training this evening 6:30-8pm in the old school cafeteria. Food & Drinks will be provided.
HDFFA is seeking new members for the Food Security Advisory Committee (FSAC), with a particular focus on recruiting community members from the Warm Springs area. Anyone who has participated in Veggie Rx, the Fresh Harvest Kit program, or is passionate about food access work is encouraged to apply. The committee invites community members to provide feedback and help improve our food access programs. Members commit to three virtual meetings a year and at least 1.5 hours of program support, with optional in-person events. A stipend of $30/hr, up to $180 total, is available for those who meet participation requirements. The Native Language Classes being offered at Warm Springs K-8 Academy after school program have been opened up to anyone in the community. Families are encouraged to join as a group. Children should be accompanied by an adult. Individuals are also welcome. Kiksht & Ichishkiin Language Classes are taught bay Radine & Ange on Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30-5:30 at the K8. Call 541-1563 for registration assistance.
The Warm Springs Community Action Team is now scheduling tax appointments. It will be drop-off tax preparation. Pick up an envelope at the WSCAT office and appointments will be made for Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 9th.
The Lincoln’s Powwow Committee will have memorial releases, an opening of the longhouse floor in preparation for the 2026 powwow and a War Bonnet Ceremony this Saturday (Feb. 7) starting with Washat at 9am.
Warm Springs Prevention will have Valentine’s Day Bingo February 11th 6-8pm at the Simnasho Longhouse. Dinner and prizes will be provided.
A free Suicide Prevention & Education training for Warm Springs community will be held Monday, February 16th 6-7:30pm in the old school cafeteria. Participants will learn how to recognize the warning signs and what you can do to help. Register at the Warm Springs Prevention or Lines for Life Office.
