Today is the monthly Senior Breakfast Day in Warm Springs. On the menu: eggs, sausage, hash browns, oatmeal, toast & fresh fruit.
The Warm Springs Boys & Girls Club is closed for staff training today. The summer program starts on Monday, June 15 and it will run weekdays 8-5. No meals will be provided in June. Youth must bring their own breakfast & lunch. The 509J Summer Meals Program will start on July 6th. The club will be closed on June 19th for the Juneteenth Holiday.
The Range & Agriculture Committee is scheduled to meet this morning from 9 to noon at the BNR Cougar Den. The committee meets twice per month on the 2nd and 4th Friday.
The MountainStar Resource Bus providing diapers, wipes and other supplies for young children will be in the parking lot of the Warm Springs Community Center today from 10:30-2:30. Families that are registered with MountainStar will be eligible for diapers twice a month. For more information call 458-287-1080. Every Friday, Warm Springs Behavioral Health Center has a Relapse Prevention Group for current clients at 11am. In the afternoon, Art + Emotion Group with Dr. Largent is from 3-4pm and Wellbriety Group Therapy is from 4-5pm. These afternoon groups are open to the public.
Free meals for seniors 60 and older are served every Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday at the Jefferson County Senior Center at 860 SW Madison St in Madras from 12-1.
The Metolius Friends Food Pantry is open to all on Fridays from 4-6pm at 575 Hood Ave. You do need to bring your own bags.
The summer reading program at the Jefferson County Library is open through August 31st. Youth ages 0-18 are invited to participate. Youth will earn a prize for registering and also for reading 120 minutes each week, completing a weekly challenge and a grand prize for 960 minutes of reading! Register online at jcld.org.
On Sunday (Jun 14) a local Rise Up- Sing Out event will take place from 3-5pm at Sahalee Park in Madras. Everyone is welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy the music and speakers. There will be a rally at the North Y following the picnic from 5-7.
Warm Springs Community Health’s mobile medical clinics can help folks with medical problems, medications, STI tests and immunizations. There is a clinic Tuesday, June 16 from 10am-3pm at the Simnasho Fire Station; Wednesday, June 24 from 9am-3pm at the Pi-Ume-Sha Health Fair at the Community Center; Tuesday, June 30 from 9-11:30am at the Shelter dining hall.
Warm Springs Diabetes Prevention invites youth to participate in its Strong Youth Wellness & Fitness Program. Starting June 16th, every Tuesday & Wednesday they will have fun daily workouts & games, team challenges & competitions, nutrition & health education and more. 3rd-5th grade youth will be from 1-3pm and grades 6-8 from 3:30-5:30. The first Thursday Market of the summer is coming up next Thursday from 10:30am – 2pm at the Campus Pavillion. Vendors are welcome to come set up. It’s first come, first service for available tables and chairs. All Warm Springs residents are welcome to a FREE Wellness & Vaccine Clinic on Saturday, June 20, from 9am to noon. Free dog and cat services include vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and treatment for minor infections. No appointments are needed. The 2026 Pi-Ume-Sha Traditional Parade “Honoring the Horses” will be held on Saturday, June 27th. Lineup for participants will start at 10am with judging at 10:15. The parade begins at 11 at the campus and ends at the powwow grounds. Divisions for judging will be adult, teen and youth in these categories – walkers, traditional floats, contemporary floats & horse riders.
