- The Madras Community Food Pantry at 370 SW Culver Highway is open 10-1 today.
- Warm Springs Behavioral Health has groups every Wednesday that are open to the public. At 10am is A&D Education in the conference room. At 3:00 is Building Relationships group. There is a Wellbriety meeting & book study at 4. Wednesday afternoons at 4, there’s an A&D Education group for adults and the Youth Wellbriety Program meets. Both of those are for current BHC clients.
- Warm Springs Community Health’s mobile medical clinics can help folks with medical problems, medications, STI tests and immunizations. There is a mobile clinic today from 10am-3pm at the Simnasho Fire Station.
- Today is Senior Lunch from noon to 1 at the Warm Springs Senior Building. They are serving lasagna, steamed broccoli, garlic toast, spring mix salad & canned fruit.
- Warm Springs Community Health has a hand sewing circle that meets every Tuesday at noon in the I H S atrium. Lunch and supplies are provided for participants.
- Warm Springs Diabetes Prevention is inviting youth to participate in its Strong Youth Wellness & Fitness Program. Starting today, every Tuesday & Wednesday they will have fun daily workouts & games, team challenges & competitions, nutrition & health education and more. 3rd-5th grade youth will be from 1-3pm and grades 6-8 from 3:30-5:30. - The NeighborImpact Mobile Food Pantry will be open at the Culver High School Ag Shop Parking Lot this afternoon from 3-4.
- The Sacred Road Summer Program for kids in kindergarten through 6th grade is happening this week behind the Warm Springs Community Center. It’s from 3-5pm today through Friday and includes games, crafts, snacks and bible story. No registration is necessary, kids can just show up. They will have the program every other week through the end of July.
- SriPonya Collective presents the Brothers & Sisters in Progress – Steps to Freedom Re-entry group Tuesdays from 5:30-7pm at the Jefferson County Library in Madras. It’s a peer-led weekly support group where people returning from prison can build a healthy support system. There is also a Zoom option to attend. Every 2nd Tuesday the group meets virtually only. The first Thursday Market of the summer is coming up this Thursday from 10:30am – 2pm at the Campus Pavillion. Vendors are welcome to come set up. It’s first come, first serve for available tables and chairs. Many of our local bead & craft artisans will be set up along with programs like the IHS pharmacy, OHSU & Head Start. The High Desert Food and Farm Alliance will have 30 free fresh harvest kits for folks. At the first market the Rooper Ranch from Redmond will be selling produce, and the Jefferson County Library will have free books. A memorial and headstone dedication for Trayce Sam-Smith, son of Mileena Edwards & Troy Sam-Smith, will take place this Saturday (Jun 20). At 9am, they will meet at the Agency Cemetery and go to the Agency Longhouse after for one seven. Rejoining, giveaway and a meal will follow. Everyone is welcome.
All Warm Springs residents are welcome to a Wellness & Vaccine Clinic this Saturday (Jun 20), from 9am to noon. Free dog and cat services include vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and treatment for minor infections. No appointments are needed. The Warm Springs Community Wellness Center will have a free youth fitness program this summer – it starts Monday, June 22. It will include an hour a day of fun challenges for all ages. For more information talk to Hamley at the Community Center.

The Johnson O’Malley Committee will accept applications for summer extracurricular activities through Friday, June 26. The allowances are available for Jefferson County 509J and South Wasco County students pre-k through 12th grade for eligible activities in June, July & August. The Azar Spino Memorial Wild Horse Race is happening during the Pi-Ume-Sha Treaty Days Open Rodeo on Saturday, June 27th at noon. For entry information you can contact George Spino 541-300-5906.
The 2026 Pi-Ume-Sha Traditional Parade “Honoring the Horses” will be held on Saturday, June 27th. Lineup for participants will start at 10am with judging at 10:15. The parade begins at 11 at the campus and ends at the powwow grounds. Divisions for judging will be adult, teen and youth in these categories – walkers, traditional floats, contemporary floats & horse riders.
