Funeral Arrangements for Chief Rafael Queahpama – Burial is this morning (6/18). They will leave the Simnasho Longhouse at 7 and go to the Simnasho Cemetery. They will return to the longhouse after.

• The summer program at the Warm Springs Boys & Girls Club is open weekdays 8-5. Meals are not available until July 6^th so kids should bring a breakfast and/or lunch. The club will be closed tomorrow (Jun 19) for the Juneteenth Holiday.
• The Community Wellness Center has Sandlot Softball every Thursday at 10am at the Pi-ume-sha Field. Everyone is welcome to join them for slow-pitch softball games and music every Thursday during summer break.
• The Madras Community Food Pantry will be open 10am to 1pm today. It’s located on the Culver Highway.
• The Life Raft Food Pantry in Maupin is open Thursdays from 10AM – 3PM. The Dufur School Pantry is open Thursdays from 4:30-6:30pm in the Home Ec Room. And the Neighbor-to-Neighbor Food Pantry in Wamic is open on the first and third Thursday of the month from 1-4pm.
• The first Thursday Market of the year is today from 10:30am – 2pm at the Campus Pavillion.  Vendors are welcome to come set up.  It’s first come, first serve for available tables and chairs.  There will be local bead & craft booths along with programs like the IHS pharmacy, OHSU & Head Start.  The High Desert Food and Farm Alliance will have 30 free fresh harvest kits for folks.  At this first market, the Rooper Ranch from Redmond will be selling produce and the Jefferson County Library will have free books. Stop by the KWSO table today and get a child size Root Digger T-shirt! • Thursday groups at Warm Springs Behavioral Health Center are On Second Thought at 4:00 and Embodiment Practice with Dr. Tam from 4-5:30pm. Dr. Tam’s group is open to the public.

The Employee Appreciation Carnival will be held tomorrow (Jun 19) from noon to 3 at the Campus Pavilion. This event is for tribal and enterprise employees only, so please bring your employee‑issued ID. There will be music and various carnival booths that have drinks, snacks & games. Warm Springs Prevention and Health and Human Services is providing a BBQ for all employees. Raffle drawings begin at 2:30, and you do not need to be present to claim a prize. The day will conclude with a basketball showdown at 3.

Legends Reloaded, an event coming to the Jefferson County Event Complex this weekend (Jun 19-20), will celebrate some rock’s most iconic artists with tributes to Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Tom Petty, Heart, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Bad Company, Hall & Oates, the Doobie Brothers, and The Allman Brothers Band. It’s an all-ages event and kids 12 & under can attend for free. Friday, gates open at 6 and music starts at 7. On Saturday, gates open at noon and the show starts at 1. Nature Kids outings are for kids and families to explore the wonders of the natural world at a local park, with a hands-on activity. Nature Kids is offered on the third Saturday of the month through October at Sahalee Park in Madras. The next outing is this Saturday (Jun 20) 10:30-noon. The theme is Wild Inventors! All Nature Kids are free and ideal for families with kids ages 5-10. Registration is helpful but not required. Visit DeschutesLandTrust.org to learn more.

A memorial and headstone dedication for Trayce Sam-Smith, son of Mileena Edwards & Troy Sam-Smith, will take place this Saturday (Jun 20). They are meeting at the Agency Cemetery at 9am and then going to the Agency Longhouse for one seven. Rejoining, giveaway and a meal will follow. Everyone is welcome.

All Warm Springs residents are welcome to a Wellness & Vaccine Clinic this Saturday (Jun 20), from 9am to noon. Free dog and cat services include vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and treatment for minor infections. The Warm Springs Community Wellness Center will have a free youth fitness program this summer – it starts Monday, June 22. It will include an hour a day of fun challenges for all ages. For more information talk to Hamley at the Community Center.

The 2026 Pi-Ume-Sha Health Fair is coming up Wednesday, June 24^th 9am to 1:30pm on the front lawn of the Warm Springs Community Wellness Center. Everyone is welcome. There will be health screenings, community resources, and all kinds of giveaways.

The Johnson O’Malley Committee is accepting applications for summer extracurricular activities through Friday, June 26. The allowances, are available for Jefferson County 509J and South Wasco County students pre-k through 12 grade for activities in June, July & August. They can be submitted by email to JOM@wstribes.org or dropped off with Naomi Brisbois, Krysta Rhoan, Tashina Smith or Arlena Danzuka. ECE is now accepting school age children ages 6 and 7, covering Kindergarten and 1st grade for the 2025-26 School year. Parents will need to download the Brightwheel app.
