Warm Springs Fire Update – 7/24/26 9am

Fire crews on the Warm Springs Reservation are managing four active wildfires today under hot, windy Red Flag conditions.

On the north end, lines are holding on both the sub-acre Dog Butte Fire and the 41-acre Green Apple Fire, with both now on patrol status.

Action remains focused on the southern region in Seekseequa. Overnight burnout operations on the 1,100-acre Bench Fire successfully halted its southern push along the M100 road. Crews are now building dozer lines around its eastern and western flanks to protect nearby homes as a Type 3 Incident Management Team takes command.

Meanwhile, the 200-acre Beachcomb Fire is creeping down plateau slopes in previously burned terrain.

Level 3 “Go Now” evacuations remain in place for Upper Seekseequa and Indian Park, with Level 2 “Be Set” notices for Lower Seekseequa. Non-residents are urged to stay clear of the area.

The Warm Springs Reservation is under an Extreme Fire Danger rating, with a reservation-wide burn ban in effect. All three industrial zones have moved to Level 3 restrictions. Open campfires, wood stoves, and charcoal briquette fires are strictly prohibited, though liquid fuel and propane stoves remain allowed. Additionally, operating internal combustion engines—such as chainsaws or portable generators—is banned daily between 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Fireworks and explosives are strictly prohibited across all reservation lands.
