  • The Simnasho Tribal Market is open Saturdays and Sundays 10am – 2pm through Labor Day weekend, by the Simnasho Longhouse.  Tribal Vendors are welcome and visitors are encouraged.
  • The Madras Saturday Market is happening today starting at 9 and going until 2:00 at Sahalee Park. It is open to local vendors – visit SaturdayMarketMadras.com of find them on Facebook & Instagram for more information.
  • The Young Adults in Transitions Drop-In Center in Madras is open to people between 14 and 25 years old to hang out, build connections, and get help with next steps in life. It offers support for: mental health & well-being, education & career planning, employment readiness, housing resources, healthy relationships, budgeting & financial literacy, life skills—and so much more. It’s open Wednesdays & Saturdays, 3-7PM for youth ages 14–18 who are currently in school and Saturdays, 10AM–2PM for young adults ages 18–25 not in school. It’s located at: 241 SW 6th Street, Madras.
  • A Berry Feast & Powwow Celebration to welcome the first berries of the year is being held this weekend at the Hehe Longhouse. Today at 5pm will be a potluck meal so bring your favorite dish and the powwow starts at 7pm. The feast ceremony starts at 9am on Sunday.

Papalaxsimisha, Warm Springs Recreation & Southern Oregon University’s “All My Relations” Program are having a summer art camp for youth July 27-29 from 9-3 in the Community Center social hall. Register with the Community Center office 541-553-3243. Families are welcome to join for a showcase of the artwork on Wednesday, July 29th at 5:30 with dinner provided.

Medical Teams International, in collaboration with Warm Springs Managed Care, will host a free dental clinic Monday, July 27th from 11am until 4pm at the Campus Pavilion. They can provide dental extractions and fillings. Appointments are not necessary and services are provided at no cost. There will also be a free urgent dental clinic in Madras on Tuesday, July 28 from 9-2 at the Madras Shelter. Space for that is limited – call for appointments 971-710-8603.

There is Tai Chi class on Monday, July 27th from 6-7pm in the Community Center aerobics room. It’s free and all skill levels are welcome.

The Papalaxsimisha Reproductive Health Team is inviting all grandmas to a special morning of conversation, breakfast, playing games, and seeking valuable wisdom from our elders about their experiences with coming of age, motherhood, perimenopause & menopause—including the support they had or wished they’d had. The Seasons of Womanhood Elders Brunch is on Wednesday, July 29th 9AM–1PM in the Youth Center Gym. They will have gift bags for the first 25 grandmas in attendance; haircuts will be available on-site and incentive prizes.

The deadline for submitting the CTWS Scholarship Application has been extended to July 31st. For applications received between July 17-31, a 10% deduction per day will be applied to the annual scholarship for each day late. The 2026-2027 Needs Analysis Summary does not have to be turned in to the student’s college Financial Aid Office until the beginning of the Fall Term 2026. Students do not need to submit scholarship denial or confirmation letters until they receive that information from the Oregon Tribal Student Grant, Federal Aid or any of the other 5-7 scholarship organizations they applied to. Division of Child Support employees are in Warm Springs once a month at the DHS office providing in-person assistance with completing forms and answering questions about child support. They are there on the first Tuesday of every month and their next visit will be on Tuesday, August 4th from 1-3pm. Walk-ins and appointments are welcome.
