  • Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Tribal Government offices have been shut down for today due to the Level 3 evacuation notice that is currently in effect due to Bench and Beachcomb Wildfires, impacting reservation areas from Seekseequa to Agency.
  • The Warm Springs Indian Health Service Clinic will be open for basic care today, but routine and non-critical appointments will be rescheduled.
  • The Boys and Girls Club is closed today. They plan to re-open on Tuesday.
  • The Jefferson County School District has cancelled all summer programming for today at all sites. There will be no summer school at Madras Elementary, Bridges High School or Madras High School. All the summer meals sites will be closed as well.
  • The summer art camp for youth scheduled for today through Wednesday at the Community Center has been postponed until a later date.
  • The Sacred Road Summer Program is cancelled for today.

Voters in the Madras Aquatic Center Recreation District will decide on August 4 whether to recall four members of the district’s board of directors. Ballots have been mailed to eligible registered voters. Completed ballots must be returned to the Jefferson County Clerk by 8 p.m. on Election Day, August 4, or be postmarked by August 4 and received within the state’s allowed timeframe to be counted.

Warm Springs community members who are the primary caregivers of children under 18 are invited to participate in a conversation about what makes a community a place where people feel they belong. It’s on Tuesday, August 4th from 5:30-7:30pm in the old school cafeteria. A meal and gift card will be provided, as well as activities for children. Tribal members are being asked to review and provide comments on the Jones Canyon Tower Replacement Project Assessment.
