Simtustus Competing at National History Day

Warm Springs Tribal member Thyriecia Simtustus is a  junior at Madras High School, who this year won the Oregon History Day competition in her age group and category for a project about Celilo Falls.   Once a thriving fishing and trading community, Tyriecia chose the topic to educate herself and others about the legacy of this place along the Columbia River.  Her win means she will now travel to the National Competition at the University of Maryland in June.  You can hear more from Tyriecia Simtustus on KWSO’s Our People and Mother Earth.
