Friday 3/1
• Folks interested in serving on the Warm Springs Statewide Transportation Improvement Fund Advisory Committee have until 5pm Friday to submit an application. The Committee will help make decisions about public transportation projects. Applications are available at the Tribal Administration Building. You can also download one at C O I C 2 dot org, go to transportation and select STIF from the drop down menu.
• Warm Springs Higher Education reminds students who plan to apply for the Tribal Scholarship that you should apply for FAFSA, the State Need Grant and Oregon Opportunity Grant by this Friday to be eligible for more funding. The Tribal Scholarship Early Bird deadline is May 1st – students who turn in application packets by this date will be eligible for certain school supplies. The regular deadline is July 1st. Talk to Carroll at the Higher Ed office for more information.

March 15th is a referendum vote for Warm Springs Tribal Voters. The referendum question asks Tribal voters to add the 1980 census to the list of baseline census years for determining the Confederated Tribes blood quantum. This is not an enrollment election. KWSO will rebroadcast our Warm Springs Program about the enrollment next week to help inform voters about this referendum. The March 15th vote will take place at the Community Center from 8am to 8pm. There is a voter turnout requirement for the referendum vote to be valid and so KWSO encourages all eligible tribal member voters to cast your ballot – either way – so the referendum vote will count.

The Madras VFW Post 12141 and its Auxiliary invites all people, veterans and non-veterans, to a free “Welcome Home Veterans” spaghetti dinner and events on March 30 from 4-8pm at the Erickson Aircraft Collection in Madras. There will be dinner from 5-6:30 and entertainment, raffles, auctions, kid friendly games and patriotic merchandise for sale. Donations are appreciated.
