No work today for employees of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs,
The Bureau of Indian Affairs and Indian Health Services. Essential services will operate including Public Safety, Utilities, and BIA roads.

There is no school today in Warm Springs, Madras, Metolius, Culver, Maupin today. School also is cancelled for Bend-La Pine, Redmond, Sisters, Crook County and Gilchrist schools.

All Central Oregon Community College campuses and OSU-Cascades are closed today.

The Warm Springs post office will be closed today.

Crook and Jefferson County Circuit Courts are closed today
Deschutes County State Offices are closed today

An avalanche has closed U.S. 20 just west of the Santiam Pass. Travelers should avoid the area, take an alternative route or expect a long delay.

Cascades East Transit will operate on a snow schedule today for Bend Fixed Route and Dial-A-Ride services. Community Connector services including Route 20 between Warm Springs and Madras and rural Dial-A-Ride will operate on regular schedules today.

The Redmond Air Field was closed Monday and Tuesday for all arriving and departing flights. The terminal remained open. Everything is scheduled to reopen this morning at 9. Monday they were closed due to the snow storm and yesterday they remained closed due to damage done by the snow to a navigational aide system. The Instrument Landing System equipment owned and operated by the Federal Aviation Administration allows pilots to land aircraft in weather conditions that are not under Visual Flight Rules.

Last night (2/26/19) at approximately 9:00pm, Oregon Secretary of State Dennis Richardson passed away at his home surrounded by family and friends. He had been battling cancer. Richardson was a veteran – a combat helicopter pilot in Vietnam and had a 30-year legal career and 19 years in public service. Oregon Governor Kate Brown will appoint a Republican to serve as Secretary of State.

The Senate has confirmed President Donald Trump’s nomination of Eric Miller as a judge on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in a party-line vote. The Seattle attorney was nominated by Trump last year but faced opposition from Democrats, including from both home-state senators. Aides say Miller’s confirmation marks the first time the Senate has strayed from tradition and confirmed a judicial nominee over the dissent of home-state senators.
