Water was restored last night to the campus area however the boil water order remains in effect for the Warm Springs on the Agency Water System. They will be flushing the system south of Shitike creek today and taking water samples for testing. The boil order will be in place until the EPA gives approval for it to be lifted.  There will be additional water testing done on Monday and so the order will be in place until at least Tuesday. Folks should boil water for use by bringing water to a rolling boil for three minutes to use for cooking, drinking, brushing teeth and washing dishes.  Drinking water distribution today will be limited to senior citizens and families with babies who use water for formula.  That limited distribution is at the old Warm Springs Elementary School Library. Students from the ROOTS program – an alternative high school in Warm Springs which is part of 509-J Bridges High School – have completed work on a project trailer that began several years ago and will soon be utilized by homeless veterans. The trailer was at one time used as an office for Legal Aid services. It became a project for students with the guidance of the Warm Springs Utilities Department. Many items used in the project were recycled from homes near the school that were scheduled to be demolished. Doors, windows, moldings, plumbing fixtures and hardware items were collected and reused. How and where the refurbished trailer will be utilized will be decided by local veteran’s organizations.
