Warm Springs Early Childhood Education will be closed again today due to vandalism clean up.  They will let families know when they will be able to reopen.

There’s Yoga Class every Tuesday and Thursday in the noon hour.  The class is provided by the Warm Springs Wellness Program and is held in the old elementary school gym.

Warm Springs Food Bank hours are Monday thru Friday 9am-4pm (they are closed in the noon hour)  The food bank is located at the Commodities Building in the Industrial Park.

The Jefferson County Food Bank is open on Tuesday afternoons from 1:30-5 at 556 SW Seventh Street in Madras.

The Branch of Natural Resources Fisheries Department will be giving away winter steelhead at the Community Center today starting around 1pm.  These are winter steelhead from the Parkdale Fish Facility.  The fish will be frozen with 4 to 5 fish per bag.  There is a limit of 1 bag per family, you must be present to receive fish and please bring your own bags or coolers.

First time student worker applicants must attend an orientation training as part of their hire process.  Trainings are Monday thru Thursday 9am – 4pm at the Education Building in the Computer Lab If you have questions – call 541-553-3328 or 3324.

There is an opportunity for Warm Springs Youth to attend the Big Lake Youth Camp outside of Sisters this summer.  There are 20 slots for 10-12 year olds in July and 20 slots for 13-17 year olds in August.  There is no cost but you do need to register soon.  You can learn more about the camp at big lake dot org or you can call Seth at 707-530-1560.

The Indian Head Casino 6th annual car show is this Saturday 10am – 3pm.  Everyone is welcome to come check it out.  They are seeking vendors.  Anyone interested can contact Guest Services.

Warm Springs Tribal Council is advertising all positions on Tribal Council Committees as well as for Enterprise Boards and Commissions.  Letters of Interest & Resumes are due the first week of July and can be dropped off for the Secretary Treasurer/CEO – at the Tribal Administration Building or mailed to PO Box 455.  A Criminal Background and Credit Background Checks must be completed as well.

The Stewards of Indigenous Resources Endowment will be in Warm Springs June 23rd – July 5th offering Tribal Members a chance to learn about estate planning and writing out their Will.  If you are interested in starting the process to write your will – you can pick up more information and complete an authorization form at the Land Services Office at the Tribal Administration Building.  To learn more you can contact Roberta Armstrong at 866-639-5550.

Cascades East Transit Saturday service returns this weekend for Route 20 serving Warm Springs.  However – due to limited drivers today thru Friday – the late morning 10:17 run is cancelled.  The schedule will go back to normal next week.   You can find the schedule at the cascades east transit website (https://cascadeseasttransit.com/routes-schedules/warm-springs-madras-route-20/)  and there – you can also find the link to download the CET  Real-time App

The drive through window at Warm Springs Housing Authority is now open.  With their new addition – they have relocated their reception desk so please enter the new part of the building with the new southern entrance.

The Madras Aquatic Center and Recreation District  has Summer Swim Classes and Lessons plus water fitness programs, youth sports programs and youth camps this summer.  Learn more at their website MAC REC DISTRICT dot com. https://www.macrecdistrict.com/

COVID-19 precautions continue to be recommended especially if you will be in a large groups  of people.  Continue to sanitize and wash your hands on a regular basis. With start of summer celebrations and activities it’s important to be cautious. You can pick up home COVID test kits at Emergency Management or at the Fire Department.   If you test positive, you need to call the health and wellness center to find out about treatment options.
