Thrive Central Oregon can help connect people to local resources they are looking for – such as housing, healthcare, basic needs, benefits assistance, employment and more. There are many resources in Central Oregon, but they can be difficult to access alone. Thrive Central Oregon has drop-in hours in Warm Springs and Madras once a week. Tuesdays they are available at the Warm Springs Housing Authority from 9am-noon and 1-3pm. Thursdays they are at Jefferson County Public Health 10am until 3.
The Warm Springs Commodities Food Bank, located at 4217 Holliday Street in the Industrial Park, is open 10 until 1 today.
The Madras Community Food Pantry at 370 SW Culver Highway is open 10-1 today.
Today is Senior Lunch from noon to 1 at the Warm Springs Senior Building.
The Jefferson County Senior Center in Madras will serve lunch today for folks 60 & older.
Warm Springs Community Health Program has a hand sewing circle that meets every Tuesday at noon in the I H S atrium. Lunch and supplies are provided for participants. For more info contact Charlene 541-553-2352 or Charlene.Moody@wstribes.org.
The Warm Springs Health & Wellness Center’s Employee Appreciation Committee is having a Valentine’s Day Basket Silent Auction in Pod A tomorrow (Feb. 11) 9am to 3:30pm. Everyone is welcome to place bids.
The Papalaxsimisha Native American Student Union at Madras High School will meet tomorrow (Feb. 11) during lunch in Mr. Kollen’s class (room 17).
The Warm Springs K8’s Native American Student Union for 6th, 7th & 8th grade students will meet tomorrow (Feb. 11) from 3-4pm in the Community Room.
Warm Springs Prevention will have Valentine’s Day Bingo tomorrow (Feb. 11) 6-8pm at the Simnasho Longhouse. Dinner and prizes will be provided.
Warm Springs Prevention will present Opioid Information & Narcan Training on Thursday, February 19th 6:30-8pm in the old school cafeteria. Food & Drinks will be provided.
Warm Springs Economic Development Corporation is accepting applications for two Board of Directors positions (one Tribal Member and one non-member). Letters of Interest & Resumes of applicants interested in serving on the Board should be submitted no later than 5pm on Wednesday, March 4th. They can be dropped off or mailed, addressed to WSED CEO 4202 Holliday Street, PO Box 1186 in Warm Springs or emailed to Jim.Souers@wstribes.org.
The Tribal Member Art Exhibit will be on display at the Museum at Warm Springs through March 7th. The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9am to noon and 1-5pm. Stop by to see traditional, contemporary and video artwork from youth and adults of Warm Springs.
The Warm Springs Community Action Team is now scheduling tax appointments. It will be drop-off tax preparation. Pick up an envelope at the WSCAT office and appointments will be made for Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 9th.
The Madras Elks Lodge is providing fuel and grocery gift cards, to qualifying Veterans and their families. To learn more, you can contact your Veteran Services Officer at the Jefferson County Community Center, 541-475-5228. You can also contact an Elks Lodge officer.
Tenants of Warm Springs Housing Authority who require emergency repairs after hours or on weekends/holidays need to contact Warm Springs PD Dispatch at 541-553-1171 and request Housing’s on-call service. A qualifying emergency service would be a broken water line, backed up sewer, any electrical issues and kicked-in exterior doors. All other non-emergency work orders can be taken care of on the next business day.
