Tribal Council is in session today.  In the morning there will be an: Education Update; Finance Update; and a Public Utilities Update. The afternoon agenda has updates from TERO, the Warm Springs Community Action Team and the Warm Springs Youth Council.

  • It’s ECE Spirit Week. Today is Sweat Pants or Track Suit Day, Tomorrow is Dress to Impress Day and Friday – wear hearts or red!
  • Warm Springs Head Start is offering Positive Indian Parenting today at Noon.

Indian Head Casino’s Cottonwood Restaurant is closed due to unforeseen mechanical issues.  Food and Beverages is available at the Tule Grill.

  • There is a senior lunch today at noon at the Warm Springs Senior Center dining area. Senior meals are free for all elders age 60 and older. Folks can join the seniors for lunch – it’s $1 for Youth, $5 for adults or you can assist with clean-up after the meal.
  • Seniors age 60 and older can get free meals Wednesdays at noon at the Jefferson County Senior Center in Madras.
  • Today is the Free Food Market at the Madras Community Food Pantry, located at 370 SW Culver Highway. Signups will begin at 4 and doors open at 4:30

The Warm Springs Health & Wellness Center’s Employee Appreciation Committee is having a Valentine’s Day Basket Silent Auction in Pod A on today 9am to 3:30pm. Everyone is welcome to place bids.

  • The Papalaxsimisha Native American Student Union at Madras High School will meet today during lunch in Mr. Kollen’s class (room 17).
  • The Warm Springs K8’s Native American Student Union for 6th, 7th & 8th grade students will meet today from 3-4pm in the Community Room.
  • Warm Springs K8 Girls Basketball plays at home this afternoon, hosting JCMS
  • Listen to KWSO tomorrow night for Madras White Buffalo basketball. The Madras boys are hosting The Dalles. You can hear the varsity game live on KWSO. Tip-off is at 7.

Warm Springs Prevention will have Valentine’s Day Bingo this evening 6-8pm at the Simnasho Longhouse. Dinner and prizes will be provided.

Native Language Classes being offered at Warm Springs K-8 Academy after school program have been opened up to anyone in the community.  Families are encouraged to join as a group. Children should be accompanied by an adult. Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30-5:30 at the K8. Call 541-1563 for registration assistance.

The Warm Springs Community Action Team is now scheduling tax appointments. You can pick up a tax packet anytime but you do need to set up an appointment to have your taxes done.  Call 541-553-3148.  Most refunds will be delivered by direct deposit or other secure electronic methods like prepaid debit cards or digital wallets.  That means you should have a bank account where your tax refund can be deposited and be sure to have your banking information when you file your taxes. The Community Action Team is the blue building on campus.  Tax appointments are on Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 9th.

The Warm Springs Holiday Men’s Basketball Tournament was rescheduled for February 19-21. Interested teams should contact Austin Greene at 541-553-3243.

2026 Lincoln’s Powwow is this weekend at the Simnasho Longhouse. Grand entry times are 7pm Friday, 1pm Saturday and 1:30 on Sunday.  For powwow information contact Austin Greene at the Community Center. For vendor information call Sandra 541-325-1839. A free Suicide Prevention & Education training for Warm Springs community will be held Monday, February 16th 6-7:30pm in the old school cafeteria. Participants will learn how to recognize the warning signs and what you can do to help. Register at the Warm Springs Prevention or Lines for Life Office. Community meetings to learn about a reservation-based drone testing site opportunity with Zipline have been scheduled for February 17, 18 & 19. Warm Springs Economic Development is seeking community input. The meetings will be 6-8pm on February 17th at the Seekseequa Fire Hall, February 18th at the Agency Longhouse and February 19th at the Simnasho Longhouse. Light dinners will be provided.
