The Warm Springs Boys & Girls Club summer program starts today, and it will run weekdays 8-5. No meals will be provided in June. Youth must bring their own breakfast & lunch. The 509J Summer Meals Program will start on July 6th. The club will be closed on June 19th for the Juneteenth Holiday.
On the Tribal Council Agenda today, this morning – Enrollments; July agenda, travel delegations & minutes review; and draft resolutions. This afternoon – Secretary-Treasurer/COO update; IHS update; Health & Human Services; and Managed Care update.
The Hydro Panel Facility in the Industrial Park is open today for free drinking water. Warm Springs community members can stop by between 8am and 5pm to fill their containers.
The Health & Welfare Committee is scheduled to meet today from 9am until noon at the clinic and the Education Committee from 5:30-7:30pm at the Wyam Youth Center. Both committees meet every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month.
Mondays at Warm Springs Behavioral Health there is a Women’s Talking Circle at 11am and the Adolescent A&D Education Court Program class is at 4. These are for BHC clients – contact their office if you need more information.
Senior Fitness Class at the Senior Center is every Monday and Thursday morning at 10:45 with a lunch for participants after.
The Warm Springs Helping Hand Food Pantry is open Mondays 12:30-4pm at the Presbyterian Church. Food is available first come first serve. This is drug and alcohol-free zone.
The Sacred Road Summer Program for kids in kindergarten through 6th grade is happening this week behind the Warm Springs Community Center. It’s from 3-5pm Monday through Friday and includes games, crafts, snacks and bible story. No registration is necessary, kids can just show up. They will have the program every other week through the end of July.
There is Tai Chi class this evening from 6-7 in the Community Center aerobics room. It’s free and all skill levels are welcome.
Warm Springs Diabetes Prevention invites youth to participate in its Strong Youth Wellness & Fitness Program. Starting tomorrow (Jun 16), every Tuesday & Wednesday they will have fun daily workouts & games, team challenges & competitions, nutrition & health education and more. 3rd-5th grade youth will be from 1-3pm and grades 6-8 from 3:30-5:30. Warm Springs Community Health’s mobile medical clinics can help folks with medical problems, medications, STI tests and immunizations. There is a clinic tomorrow (Jun 16) from 10am-3pm at the Simnasho Fire Station; Wednesday, June 24 from 9am-3pm at the Pi-Ume-Sha Health Fair at the Community Center; Tuesday, June 30 from 9-11:30am at the Shelter dining hall.
The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Employee Appreciation Carnival is on Friday, June 19th at the Campus Pavilion from noon until 3.
COCC is offering a GED class at the Madras campus Mondays and Wednesday 6:00-7:20 pm beginning the week of June 22. GED Preparation Classes help you to Improve your skills in reading, writing, speaking, and math for college credit classes, the GED exam, and work. Register on the COCC website.
The next Warm Springs Tribal Appreciation Day at Kah-Nee-Ta Resort is coming up Wednesday, June 24. There is free admission for day use swimming & activities from 11am to 7pm. Discounts are also offered on cabana rentals, food in the restaurant and purchases at the pool house store. Warm Springs Tribal Appreciation Days are open to tribal members, spouses, Warm Springs residents and tribal enterprise employees. Warm Springs Tribal Appreciation Days at Kah-Nee-Ta Resort are held every other Wednesday through September.
Celebrate Independence Day at the Warm Springs 4th of July events on Saturday, July 4th, honoring the theme “250 Years of America, Time Immemorial Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs.” The day kicks off with a 5k fun run/walk starting at 8am, with registration opening at 7:30 on-site and pre-registration available now at the Community Center office. Parade festivities begin with a 9am lineup at the old elementary school, followed by float judging at 10 and the parade starts at 11. Afterward, head to the Community Center for a BBQ at noon, a horseshoe tournament at 12:30, and family fun games on the fields starting around 1:30. The celebration will conclude with a fireworks display at dusk. There will also be a drone show from 10-10:15 that night directly over the baseball fields.
Jefferson County School District 509J is accepting registrations for its 3-week summer acceleration program. Transportation will be provided to students who need it and meals will be served to all students. Due to a large construction project at Warm Springs K-8 Academy, students who attend the K8 will attend the summer program at Madras Elementary School. K-8 students who attend Madras, Buff & Metolius Elementary Schools and Jefferson County Middle School will attend the summer program at Bridges High School. 9th Grade Strong Start students and Grade 10-12 Credit Recovery programs will take place at Madras High School. The Programs will run July 20 – August 6 from 8:15am – 3pm. Register on the school district’s website.
“Red, White & Blue, This Fair is For You” is the team of the 2026 Jefferson County Fair & Rodeo, which runs July 22-25 at the Jefferson County Event Complex in Madras. Carnival tickets go on sale June 1st at El Torito Supermarket. Entertainment includes 11 live bands, music bingo, Jefferson County’s Got Talent and more. The NPRA Rodeo will be Friday & Saturday at the fair. Admission to the fair is free, but it does cost to get into the rodeo – $15 for adults, $7 for ages 6-12 and free for kids 5 & under.
