The Plateau Travel Plaza is inviting the community to celebrate the completion of its major expansion during a Grand Opening celebration today from noon until 9 p.m. The event begins with a cultural blessing and ribbon cutting, followed by fuel discounts, café tastings, KWSO will be there, plus a Kid Zone, prize giveaways, arts and crafts, and a drone show at 9 p.m.
The Madras Saturday Market is happening today starting at 9 and going until 2:00 at Sahalee Park. It is open to local vendors – visit www.SaturdayMarketMadras.com of find them on Facebook & Instagram for more information.
The Simnasho Tribal Market is open Saturdays and Sundays 10am – 2pm through Labor Day weekend, by the Simnasho Longhouse. Tribal Vendors are welcome and visitors are encouraged. You can contact Howie or Delson to learn more.
Warm Springs Community Health mobile medical clinics can help folks with medical problems, medications, STI tests and – by appointment – procedures. The next mobile medical clinic is on Monday, July 13th from 10am to 3pm at the Sidwalter Flats Fire Station. There are also clinics scheduled for July 16th at the Simnasho Fire Station, July 23rd at the Thursday Market and July 28th at the Shelter Dining Hall. Walk-ins & appointments are available with RaNeva Dowty, Dr. Frey & Nurse Shirley. Call 541-553-2352 if you want to schedule.
Warm Springs Nation T-Ball Registration is being taken in person in the Family Resource Center conference room at the following dates/times: July 13, 15 & 16 from 6-8pm and July 21, 22 & 23 from 5:30-7:30pm. There is no cost to register for t-ball. Birth certificates are required to verify age. Kids need to be 6 or 7 to participate.
There will be a Tai Chi class on Monday, July 13th from 6-7pm in the Community Center aerobics room. It’s free and all skill levels are welcome.
Simnasho’s 23rd Annual Hot Summer Night Powwow & Encampment is July 14-15 at the Simnasho Powwow Arbor. Tuesday, July 14th there will be a weenie roast at 6pm, followed by new & rejoiners at 6:45 and the powwow at 7pm. Wednesday, July 15th starts with a potluck barbecue dinner at 6pm and the powwow at 7pm. There are all kinds of specials planned over the 2 days including the sweep your teepee world championships, family team dance, round bustle, puth la pa, drummers relay and the annual running of the Simnasho Derby.
The Community Health Program is offering a free education session on dementia behaviors presented by OHSU. It will be on Wednesday, July 15th from noon until 4 in the old school cafeteria. Light snacks will be provided.
Registration for Redmond Youth Tackle Football is open online at www.RedmondYouthFootball.org. The fall program is for youth in 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th grades.

The Young Adults in Transitions Drop-In Center in Madras is open to people between 14 and 25 years old to hang out, build connections, and get help with next steps in life. It offers support for: mental health & well-being, education & career planning, employment readiness, housing resources, healthy relationships, budgeting & financial literacy, life skills—and so much more. It’s open Wednesdays & Saturdays, 3-7PM for youth ages 14–18 who are currently in school and Saturdays, 10AM–2PM for young adults ages 18–25 not in school. It’s located at: 241 SW 6th Street, Madras.
