Warm Springs Community Health mobile medical clinics can help folks with medical problems, medications, STI tests and – by appointment – procedures. The next mobile medical clinic is tomorrow (7/13) from 10am to 3pm at the Sidwalter Flats Fire Station. There are also clinics scheduled for July 16th at the Simnasho Fire Station, July 23rd at the Thursday Market and July 28th at the Shelter Dining Hall. Walk-ins & appointments are available with RaNeva Dowty, Dr. Frey & Nurse Shirley. Call 541-553-2352 if you want to schedule.
Warm Springs Nation T-Ball Registration is being taken in person in the Family Resource Center conference room at the following dates/times: July 13, 15 & 16 from 6-8pm and July 21, 22 & 23 from 5:30-7:30pm. There is no cost to register for t-ball. Birth certificates are required to verify age. Kids need to be 6 or 7 to participate.
There is Tai Chi class tomorrow (7/13) from 6-7pm in the Community Center aerobics room. It’s free and all skill levels are welcome.
The Sacred Road Summer Program for kids in kindergarten through 6th grade is happening this week behind the Warm Springs Community Center. It’s from 3-5pm Monday through Friday and includes games, crafts, snacks and bible story. No registration is necessary, kids can just show up. They will have the program every other week through the end of July.
Simnasho’s 23rd Annual Hot Summer Night Powwow & Encampment is Tuesday & Wednesday (7/14-15) at the Simnasho Powwow Arbor. Tuesday there will be a weenie roast at 6pm, followed by new & rejoiners at 6:45 and the powwow at 7pm. Wednesday starts with a potluck barbecue dinner at 6pm and the powwow at 7pm. There are all kinds of specials planned over the 2 days including the sweep your teepee world championships, family team dance, round bustle, puth la pa, drummers relay and the annual running of the Simnasho Derby.
Tenants of Warm Springs Housing Authority who require emergency repairs after hours or on weekends/holidays need to contact Warm Springs PD Dispatch and request Housing’s on-call service. A qualifying emergency service would be a broken water line, backed up sewer, any electrical issues and kicked-in exterior doors. All other non-emergency work orders can be taken care of on the next business day.
The Warm Springs Police Department has temporarily contracted with Frontier Regional 911 to assist with dispatch during overnight hours. Frontier is handling all 911 and emergency dispatch services for the Warm Springs PD between the hours of 6pm and 6am. During these hours, community members who need non-emergency assistance from the police department should call 541-384-2080.
