The Range & Agriculture Committee meets this morning from 9 to noon at the BNR Cougar Den. They are scheduled to meet twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Friday.
The Reservation Impact Food Pantry at 4217 Holliday St in the Warm Springs Industrial Park is open from 10-1 today. Later this afternoon, the Metolius Friends Food Pantry at 575 Hood Ave is open from 4-6.
Friday is Senior Lunch Day in Warm Springs. Free meals for elders 60 and older are from noon to 1 every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday in the Senior Wellness Center dining room. They have vegetable beef stew on the menu today.
The 2027 Warm Springs Tribal Employee Open Enrollment Period runs from October 1st through the 29th. Be sure to confirm your email by today to receive your CTWS.Ease.com log-in details and attend the in-person or virtual informational meetings on October 13th and 14th. On the Madras High School sports schedule today, varsity football plays Coquille at Sweet Home High School.
The Jefferson County Cowdeo is coming up Saturday, September 26th at the fairgrounds in Madras. Gates open at 8am.
A local group is holding weekly rallies to help energize local voters. They are gathering every Saturday morning from 10:30 to noon at the North Y in Madras to encourage community participation in the upcoming general election. These weekly rallies will run through October 31st. Everyone is welcome to join.
A Car Seat & Community Health Resource Fair will take place Saturday, September 26th at Jefferson County Public Health in Madras. From 10-3, folks can stop by for free certified car seat checks, free car seats for eligible families, pizza, raffle prizes, and community family resource booths.
Papalaxsimisha is inviting high school seniors and their families to a financial aid assistance night. A college financial specialist will be on-site to answer questions and help families get started on their application. It’s on Thursday, October 1st at the old school cafeteria. Dinner will be provided at 5:30 and the meeting is from 6-8.
High Desert Food & Farm Alliance is inviting community members to a seed swap and pumpkin painting event on Thursday, October 1st from 4:30-6:30pm at the Community Wellness Center in the social hall. Pumpkins will be provided by DD Ranch in Terrebonne; produce comes from Seed to Table & dried herbs from Toto’s Farm in Wolfe Point. Dinner will be provided by Sandra Greene & family. It’s free and family friendly.
The SMART Reading organization is seeking volunteer readers for the afterschool program in Warm Springs. Training is provided. The time commitment is 1 hour per week, October through May. Apply online at www.SMARTreading.org/volunteer.
