The Tribal Council is scheduled to meet today. On the agenda this morning are updates from the On-Reservation Fish & Wildlife Committee; Culture & Heritage Committee; and Education Committee. This afternoon, the Timber Committee; Land Use Planning Committee; and Health & Welfare Committee.
There is a senior lunch today at noon at the Warm Springs Senior Center dining area. Senior meals are free for all elders age 60 and older. Folks can join the seniors for lunch – it’s $1 for Youth, $5 for adults or you can assist with clean-up after the meal. Today they are serving baked parmesan chicken & pasta, green salad & canned fruit.
Seniors age 60 and older can get free meals Wednesdays at noon at the Jefferson County Senior Center in Madras.
Social Dance Classes are held Wednesdays from 3:30-5pm in the Community Center Aerobics Room. Classes are open to all ages, and no sign-up is required. If you have questions, contact Deanie Johnson at Culture & Heritage.
The Warm Springs K8’s Native American Student Union for 6th, 7th & 8th grade students will meet today from 3-4pm in the Community Room.
Today is the Free Food Market at the Madras Community Food Pantry, located at 370 SW Culver Highway. Signups will begin at 4 and doors open at 4:30
The Tribal Member Art Exhibit will be on display at the Museum at Warm Springs through March 7th. The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9am to noon and 1-5pm. Stop by to see traditional, contemporary and video artwork from youth and adults of Warm Springs.
The 59th Annual Warm Springs All-Indian Men’s Holiday Basketball Tournament is on January 22-24 at the Community Center. Entries are due today. Contact Austin Greene at 541-553-3243 for more information.
U.S. Senator Ron Wyden will hold his Jefferson County town hall meeting on Friday (Jan. 16) at 1pm at the Madras Performing Arts Center.
Warm Springs Housing Authority has mailed out update forms to everyone on their waitlist. The “Statement of Continued Interest” must be filled out and returned no later than 4pm on January 30th. Failure to do so will result in removal from the Housing waitlist. If you haven’t received your update in the mail, contact the Housing office.
Seasonal vaccines are available at the Warm Springs I H S clinic. Flu vaccine is recommended for everyone age 6 months and older. RSV vaccine is recommended for infants, pregnant women and elders. Vaccine clinic hours are daily from 9:30-11:30am, except on Wednesdays and daily from 1:30-3:30pm. Appointments are not necessary.
