  • On the Tribal Council agenda this morning – Government Affairs Update; Human Resources Update; and Natural Resources Update. This afternoon – Procurement Update; Tribal Court Update; and Public Safety Update.
  • Thrive Central Oregon can help connect people to local resources they are looking for – such as housing, healthcare, basic needs, benefits assistance, employment and more. There are many resources in Central Oregon, but they can be difficult to access alone. They have drop-in hours in Warm Springs and Madras once a week. Tuesdays they are available at the Warm Springs Housing Authority from 9am-noon and 1-3pm. Thursdays they are at Jefferson County Public Health 10am until 3.
  • The Warm Springs Commodities Food Bank, located at 4217 Holliday Street in the Industrial Park, is open 10 until 1 today.
  • The Madras Community Food Pantry at 370 SW Culver Highway is open 10-1 today.
  • Today is Senior Lunch from noon to 1 at the Warm Springs Senior Building. On the menu: mushroom stuffed chicken, seasoned pasta, broccoli & canned fruit.
  • The Jefferson County Senior Center in Madras will serve lunch today for folks 60 & older.
  • The NeighborImpact Mobile Food Pantry will be open at the Culver High School Ag Shop Parking Lot this afternoon from 3-4.

The Warm Springs K8’s Native American Student Union for 6th, 7th & 8th grade students will meet tomorrow (Jan. 21) during the lunch period the Community Room.

A Committee Community Update meeting will be held this Thursday, January 22nd at the Agency Longhouse. From 3-4:30 will be the Land Use Planning, Timber and Culture & Heritage Committees followed by a light meal. 5:30-6 will be the Education Committee & Water Control Board. A community giveaway will be done at 6.

Warm Springs Housing Authority has mailed out update forms to everyone on their waitlist. The “Statement of Continued Interest” must be filled out and returned no later than 4pm on January 30th. Failure to do so will result in removal from the Housing waitlist. If you haven’t received your update in the mail, contact the Housing office.

The Miss Warm Springs Pageant will be held on Saturday, January 31st. They are seeking women age 18-24 who are interested in being a candidate. For information and an application, stop by the Tribal Council office, call 541-553-3257 or email Minnie.Yahtin@wstribes.org or Sandra.Danzuka@wstribes.org. The pageant is set for January 31st at 10am at the Agency Longhouse.

A free Suicide Prevention & Education training for Warm Springs community will be held Monday, February 16th 6-7:30pm in the old school cafeteria. Participants will learn how to recognize the warning signs and what you can do to help. Register at the Warm Springs Prevention or Lines for Life Office. Seasonal vaccines are available at the Warm Springs I H S clinic. Flu vaccine is recommended for everyone age 6 months and older. RSV vaccine is recommended for infants, pregnant women and elders. Vaccine clinic hours are daily from 9:30-11:30am, except on Wednesdays and daily from 1:30-3:30pm. Appointments are not necessary.
