Funeral Arrangements for Mary Smith. There will be a one-day service this morning at 10am at the Simnasho Longhouse. Burial will follow at the Red Lake Cemetery.
Today’s Valentine Spirit Week theme at ECE is Heart or Red Day. Daycare classrooms are having their Valentines Day parties today. The Head Start Sweet Heart’s Pow Wow scheduled for today has been rescheduled to next Friday, February 20th.
On the Madras High School athletics schedule: Boys & Girls Swimming Teams have their District Meet today & tomorrow in La Grande.
A Wellness of Warm Springs Health Education Forum – Honoring the Gift of Heart Health will take place today from noon-1pm in the old elementary cafeteria. On the menu is barbecue chicken. There’s also Valentine Market as part of the event from 9am to 3pm featuring 6 local vendors.
The Range & Agriculture Committee is scheduled to meet this morning from 9 to noon at the BNR Cougar Den. The committee meets twice per month on the 2nd and 4th Friday.
The Food Bank at the Warm Springs Commodities warehouse is open today from 10am to 1pm. And, the Reservation Impact Free Food Market is this afternoon at 3:30 at the Commodities Building. It happens on the 2nd Friday of the month.
The Mountain Star Resource Bus will be in Warm Springs today providing diapers, wipes & other supplies for families who are registered with their program. It will be parked at the Community Center from 10:30-2:30 today.
Friday is Senior Lunch Day in Warm Springs. Free meals for elders 60 and older are from noon to 1 every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday in the Senior Wellness Center dining room.
Free meals for seniors 60 and older are served every Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday at the Jefferson County Senior Center at 860 SW Madison St in Madras from 12-1.
The Metolius Friends Food Pantry is open to all on Fridays from 4-6pm at 575 Hood Ave. You do need to bring your own bags.
There is a funeral taking place at the Simnasho Longhouse today. The Lincoln’s Powwow Committee asks all drummers, dancers and community members to please hold off arriving at the longhouse until after 4pm out of respect for the grieving family.
The 2026 Lincoln’s Powwow is tonight through Sunday at the Simnasho Longhouse. Grand entry times are scheduled for 7pm this evening, 1pm tomorrow and 1:30 on Sunday. Everyone is welcome.
Monday is President’s Day, a federal holiday. There will be no school and the tribal organization will be closed.
Warm Springs Sanitation Drivers will be working their regular routes on Monday, February 16th – President’s Day. Please ensure all residential totes are set out at the end of the driveway, and assist family members or neighbors as needed.
A Language Immersion School for 3- & 4-year-olds will open at the Presbyterian Church Tuesday, February 17th. They will be taking 8 students for the program which will offer language immersion in all 3 languages throughout the day. Limited seats are available. Call 541-553-3290 for any questions.
Community meetings to learn about a reservation-based drone testing site opportunity with Zipline have been scheduled for February 17, 18 & 19. Warm Springs Economic Development is seeking community input. The meetings will be 6-8pm on February 17th at the Seekseequa Fire Hall, February 18th at the Agency Longhouse and February 19th at the Simnasho Longhouse. Light dinners will be provided.
The next KWSO Community Advisory Board meeting will be Friday, February 20 at 10:30am at the Warm Springs Media Center. On the Agenda: Update on Funding, Information Ecosystem Assessment, Our 2026 Focus, Input & Feedback Discussions. The annual meeting is open to the public.
Warm Springs Economic Development Corporation is accepting applications for two Board of Directors positions (one Tribal Member and one non-member). Letters of Interest & Resumes of applicants interested in serving on the Board should be submitted no later than 5pm on Wednesday, March 4th. They can be dropped off or mailed, addressed to WSED CEO 4202 Holliday Street, PO Box 1186 in Warm Springs or emailed to Jim.Souers@wstribes.org.
